Serhiy Shefir was Zelenskyy’s first assistant since 2019. He was fired.
Along with these dismissals, the president of Ukraine also fired two presidential envoys who were in charge of volunteerism and military rights.
The firings, according to a press representative, were a part of the presidential office’s “optimization of personnel,” as reported by Ukrainian media.
The layoffs are the most recent in a lengthy reorganization that has taken place over several weeks.
On Tuesday, Oleksii Danilov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, was fired by Zelenskyy and Oleksandr Lytvynenko, the head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service, took his place.
In February, Zelenskyy also created a stir when Oleksandr Syrskyi took over as the head of state after Valerii Zaluzhnyi was forced to resign.
Russian strikes continue The reorganization occurs as Ukraine finds itself in a challenging predicament over two years after the full-scale Russian invasion started, with minimal advancements made in the battlefield and a dwindling stream of assistance from the West.

As of Saturday, Ukrainian authorities reported that one person was injured and two people had died in the Donetsk region.
