Sony ULT Wear has high-end hardware for a mid-range price tag

For context, while the company remained quiet about its new headphones, various leakers revealed them as the WH-ULT900N a few weeks ago.
Instead, Sony is selling the WH-ULT900N with the product name ‘ULT WEAR’, which is available in Black, Forest Green and Off-White colours.
According to the company’s press release, the ULT WEAR is the start of the new ULT series, which focuses on providing a strong bass response.
Specifically, the ULT WEAR delivers a 5 Hz-20 kHz frequency response with its 40 mm neodymium drivers, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity.
Moreover, the ULT WEAR integrates a transparency mode, LDAC support and a capacitive sensor that can detect when you are wearing the headphones.
Unsurprisingly, the ULT Wear also offers active noise cancellation (ANC), gesture controls and works with the Sony Headphones Connect app.
Sony has priced the ULT Wear at €199 in the Eurozone and $199.99 in the US.

Sony just announced the WH-XB910N’s replacement (currently available). The release of which it hinted at earlier this week ($148 on Amazon). For background, a few weeks ago, a number of leakers identified the new headphones as the WH-ULT900N, despite the company’s silence on the subject. Although the model number leaked by these sources was accurate, Sony does not promote these headphones as such.

Rather, the WH-ULT900N, which comes in black, forest green, and off-white, is being sold by Sony under the brand name “ULT WEAR.”. The ULT WEAR is the first model in the new ULT series, which is focused on offering a powerful bass response, according to a press release from the company. The ULT WEAR specifically offers Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity along with a frequency response of 5 Hz–20 kHz thanks to its 40 mm neodymium drivers.

Additionally, the ULT WEAR incorporates a capacitive sensor that can recognize when you are wearing the headphones, an LDAC support feature, and a transparency mode. Furthermore, Sony has integrated its Integrated Processor V1 chipset, along with Hey Google/Alexa voice control support and Precise Voice Pickup Technology. Not surprisingly, the ULT Wear is compatible with the Sony Headphones Connect app, has gesture controls, and active noise cancellation (ANC).
