After just one day of WrestleMania 40, we’re already seeing the wild fallout from one of the biggest main events in the history of the event.

WWE continues to pursue the rivalry between Cody Rhodes and The Rock even though the Bloodline saga is officially concluded. Though we still don’t know when, it looks like the two are headed for a collision for the Universal Championship.

Many questions needed to be addressed, and Monday Night RAW did a fantastic job of addressing a good number of them. The Intercontinental Championship is indeed what Sami Zayn and Chad Gable will be vying for. Liv Morgan is still not over her feud with Rhea Ripley. As the RAW Tag Team Champions, Awesome Truth looks like they’re here to stay. It was an excellent show that helped everyone recover from WrestleMania while also inspiring excitement for what is to come.

One RAW could not adequately address all of the questions. Still, there are undoubtedly a ton of exciting plots to anticipate. Following Mania from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, this is what transpired in the 2024 RAW.

news from WWE: Cody Rhodes is the “quarterback” of the new era that the WWE has officially ushered in.

Deadly Four-Way: Jey Uso against. Drew McIntyre against… The Ricochet versus. Bronson Reed.

The victor of this contest would advance to face Damian Priest in the World Heavyweight Championship match. Thus, you can only imagine the motivation that was coursing through Drew McIntyre’s veins after he emerged victorious from that very championship, only to have it snatched away by a Money in the Bank cash-in five minutes later. But he was not to take his opponents lightly.

Jey Uso is a clear threat at all times. Ricochet can inflict significant harm and is an excellent athlete. Naturally, Reed has just emerged victorious from the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. As it turned out, Reed was the most dangerous opponent right away. As everyone else was forced to fight outside the ring, he controlled the middle of the ring with powerful strikes to Jey Uso and Ricochet.

Reed was not going to back down from his game until he took several strikes from McIntyre, along with some incredible kicks and a spear from Jey Uso. Despite everything, Reed managed to come close to winning with a Ricochet cover. However, Ricochet would soon exact his retribution by splashing Reed on the announcer’s table.

Ricochet and Reed were rendered inoperable by that splash. It was officially down to McIntyre and Jey Uso. McIntyre was looking to win, but Uso pulled ahead thanks to CM Punk’s unexpected appearance, which kept McIntyre from delivering the decisive blow.

In actuality, Gable and Zayn are not collaborating.

After Chad Gable and Sami Zayn defeated Imperium, we witnessed what happened backstage. Despite their obvious chemistry as teammates, Zayn and Gable are not going to work together. The two will instead compete for the Intercontinental Championship, as many had predicted.

Zayn is fulfilling Gable’s wish and returning the favor. The Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs the following week.

Chelsea Green against… Jade Cartgill.

Chelsea Green had some harsh words for RAW general manager Adam Pearce after being left out of WrestleMania 40. She desired recognition as well as her moment in the spotlight. Pearce, though, gave her a chance and instructed her to get to the ring right now. Sadly for Green, her opponent was Jade Cargill, who assisted Naomi and Bianca Belair in defeating Damage CTRL in a six-woman tag match at WrestleMania.

Green started requesting that the match be stopped by officials right away. Jade Cargill took Green down in less than thirty seconds, despite her obvious fear.

Not even a competition took place. Despite her short WWE tenure, she has demonstrated incredible skill. She was a star in the AEW, and it appears that the WWE will follow suit.

Sami Zayn’s inaugural Intercontinental Champion appearance.

After defeating Gunther to win the Intercontinental Championship, Sami Zayn did not waste any time in praising the WWE community and everyone who supported him. Zayn even gestured to the entrance for Chad Gable to emerge because she wanted to express her gratitude to him specifically. Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, two of Gunther’s lackeys, entered instead of Gable to chastise Zayn and “make this right.”. But Zayn would have his own support, too.

Gable entered at the perfect time. That wasn’t happening tonight, despite the widespread belief that Gable will eventually turn on Zayn in order to challenge him for the IC Championship.

In this battle, Gable demonstrated his skills masterfully, striking Vinci and Kaiser repeatedly. At one point, he even splashed both Imperium members outside the ring. Gable rolled, jumped, and suplexed his way to a flawless performance, showcasing his technical skill and athleticism. After a while, Zayn and Gable would team up in the ring to give us an incredible show, repeatedly suplexing Kaiser and Vinci side by side.

With such amazing cooperation, Zayn and Gable would quickly dispatch their opponents. Perhaps in the future, instead of going at each other’s throats as many anticipate, we will see the two work together.

Indi Hartwell opposes. Roxanne Perez, the NXT Champion.

An additional debut, an additional NXT Champion. The NXT women’s champion, who was accompanied by Candice LeRae, faced Indi Hartwell in a match that marked her main roster debut.

LeRae pulled Perez’s leg from outside the ring and helped Perez avoid a massive front kick from Hartwell, which quickly swung the fight in Perez’s favor. Both Hartwell and Perez began the fight trading blows. When Hartwell and LeRae began to argue, Perez seized the opportunity to quickly dispatch her sidekick by kicking and slamming her in the stomach.

It’s possible that Hartwell-LeRae’s demise is closer than we think.

Rhea Ripley is attacked backstage by Liv Morgan.

Rhea Ripley asked Dominik Mysterio to pursue Andrade, the man who had betrayed them at WrestleMania, following Judgment Day’s defeat by Awesome Truth. Liv Morgan used the occasion to attack Ripley with a chair, but the altercation was broken up fast.

Judgement Day in contrast to. Awesome Truth.

Even though Damian Priest and Finn Balor’s tag team lost the Tag Team title, Judgment Day held the same amount of titles throughout the course of the weekend.

Priest took an extremely long time to cash in on his Money in the Bank contract, but he did so right before Drew McIntyre could challenge him for the World Heavyweight Title—just minutes after McIntyre had defeated Seth Rollins for the same belt. The Women’s World Championship was also retained by Rhea Ripley following her victory over Becky Lynch in the opening match of WrestleMania weekend. But the primary subject of this segment wasn’t either of those titles. R-Truth entered the ring with Judgment Day as one half of the newly crowned RAW tag team champions, hoping to rebuild his friendship with the group.

The Miz wasn’t as excited about R-Truth returning to Judgment Day as she was. Judgment Day issued a challenge to Awesome Truth for a tag team championship match, but R-Truth made a counteroffer: Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and J.C. B. McDonagh as opposed to. The Miz and R-Truth’s Awesome Truth combined with “a guy you can’t see.”. “.”.

After that statement, almost everyone anticipated John Cena to make an appearance, but this was a 2 vs. For the majority of the match, 3 was an disadvantage. Judgment Day beat up on both The Miz and R-Truth, but in the end assistance arrived.

Awesome Truth gained an early advantage thanks to John Cena’s presence, and the match ended soon after. John Cena and Awesome Truth won.

RAW rookie faces off against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Before WrestleMania 40, Shinsuke Nakamura had feuds with some big names in the wrestling business, such as Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn. Former NXT Champion and RAW rookie Ilja Dragunov faced off against Nakamura for the first time since WrestleMania.

The NXT title has been held by Dragunov since September 2023. Even though it was his first time appearing in the WWE, the audience supported him right away. Although Nakamura is a formidable opponent, Dragunov did land some nice licks on him, including a clothesline. In his first fight on the WWE main roster, Dragunov defeated Nakamura, a former NXT Champion, by torpedo knockdown. Nakamura had connected on the first two covers, but Dragunov had recovered well.

The Rock cuts short Cody Rhodes’ triumphant procession.

When his cousin lost the Universal Championship, many people expected The Rock to do more than just sit back and do nothing. Rhodes was expected to face Dwayne Johnson next, with the two facing off in a title match at SummerSlam in August. Looks like we’re going in that direction.

It went without saying that The Rock’s remarks would not be accepted by the Philadelphia audience. For roughly ten minutes, the audience simply silenced him whenever he tried to say something.

When The Rock did get the floor, he did not waste any time in complimenting Rhodes in an insincere manner. And it didn’t take him long to express his goals. The Universal Championship is what he desires.

After a brief exchange of belts, The Rock and Rhodes would part ways. The Rock gave Rhodes his “People’s Champion” belt, which Muhammad Ali’s widow Lonnie had given him at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday. After receiving his Universal Championship belt from Rhodes, The Rock merely said, “This feels right,” and returned it to Rhodes.

Up until the conclusion of their segment, The Rock and Cody Rhodes keep berating each other. Unaware that Rhodes might still hold the Universal title, The Rock acknowledged that he had to step away from WWE for a while but pledged that he would return to challenge Rhodes.

Stunning homage to Rhodes.

The crowd erupted into chants of “You deserve it” at Rhodes before he could speak. And, honestly, it’s difficult to disagree with them considering how attractive the belt appeared on Rhodes. But Triple H didn’t stop there. He was going to surprise Rhodes.

The video that Triple H showed Rhodes was likely enough to bring even the most jaded WWE fans to tears. The video told the tale of Rhodes’ time in the WWE, his relationship with his father, Dusty Rhodes, a former WWE wrestler, and the arduous journey Rhodes had to endure to win the Universal Championship.

No, no, no. I am not in tears. I got soap in my eye while I was cleaning dishes.

The new WWE Universal Champion is presented by Triple H.

It seemed fitting for the big boss, Paul Levesque, to start the first even even after such a big event that saw the conclusion of several of the biggest storylines in WWE. Triple H is the person WWE fans trust the most to present the best product because there are new storylines to tell, heels to make, and faces to promote.

At the beginning of the evening, Triple H expressed gratitude to the Philadelphia fans for making WrestleMania 40 an amazing event. But after saying his goodbyes, Triple H gave the floor to the man of the hour—the recently crowned WWE Universal Champion, Cody Rhodes.

How to view RAW on Monday night.

It is now 8 p.m. me. ET/5 pm. m. PT.

Where: The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

WWE Network is streamed.

WWE RAW match card for April 8.

The WWE should avoid promoting their matches the night after WrestleMania to avoid people seeing spoilers for the event, even though there will undoubtedly be a lot going on tonight. We currently know that The Awesome Truth will make their RAW Tag Team Championship debut, Cody Rhodes will be crowned the WWE Universal Champion, Damian Priest will be crowned the World Heavyweight Champion, and several other wrestlers will make their debuts.

In addition to those appearances, Sami Zayn, the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion, is expected to make a statement. Gunther will probably cut it short by accusing foul play. It’s also highly likely that CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will show up to establish their future rivalry. An additional likely candidate for a segment would be Seth Freakin’ Rollins. Even though he isn’t the champion anymore, Rollins competed in three matches over the course of WrestleMania weekend, so it’s almost a given that he will be at RAW this evening.

During WrestleMania 40, what happened?

To be honest, what didn’t happen at WrestleMania 40?

During the event, every major title except the Women’s Tag Team Championship was up for grabs. A brief summary of each championship match is provided below.

In their match against Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley maintained the Women’s World Title.

Grayson Waller and Austin Theory won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

The Raw Tag Team Championship was won by The Miz and R-Truth.

To win the Intercontinental Championship, Sami Zayn overcame Gunther.

Seth Rollins lost to Drew McIntyre in the fight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

With a successful Money in the Bank against Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

To win the WWE Women’s Championship, Bayley overcame Iyo Sky.

To maintain his US Championship, Logan Paul defeated both Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.

For the WWE Universal Championship, Cody Rhodes triumphed over Roman Reigns.

What occurred during Monday Night Raw last week?

Much of RAW’s April 1 programming was devoted to rehashing the rivalries from this past weekend in an attempt to build excitement for WrestleMania 40.

In an eight-man tag match, Judgment Day triumphed over DIY and New Day.

Sami Zayn and Big Bronson Reed’s bout is cut short by Gunther.

Tina LeRae and Indi Hartwell lost to Ivy Nile and Maxxine Dupri.

Ivar was beaten by Ricochet.

Tegan Nox, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler were vanquished by Damage CTRL.

On Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Rock delivered the finishing blow.

RAW tonight’s predictions:.

In direct response to the outcomes of WrestleMania 40, a few things ought to occur, despite the fact that it is impossible to foresee everything.

To start with, the Tag Team title should be returned to the Judgment Day. They can only currently pursue one of the titles, of course, since the title is now divided between SmackDown and RAW. Going after the RAW title and arranging a match between The Awesome Truth and Judgment Day would make sense.

Furthermore, it would be logical for Gunther to pursue Sami Zayn once more and possibly request a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship. It goes without saying that getting a rematch won’t make getting one easier. Gunther will probably have to beat his way to Zayn once more, but who will stand in Gunther’s way? Bronson Reed, Shinsuke Nakamura, and now Gunther all have resentment toward Zayn, so it’s possible that all three of them will compete for the IC Championship once more.

However, nothing appears certain outside of those two forecasts. Who Rhodes will face next is difficult to predict. Granted that Rollins supported Rhodes and arguably lost the World Heavyweight Championship as a result, it would make sense that Rollins would be bitter against Rhodes. But following WrestleMania 40, the two of them didn’t appear to be at odds with one another. However, considering their past interactions, maybe reviving that rivalry is the right move for WWE going forward.
