Overwatch 2 season 10 patch notes – April 16, 2024 Clash – New Game Mode Preview Clash is an upcoming core game mode in Overwatch 2.
Mythic Hero Skin Updates Mythic Hero Skins Mythic hero skins are now unlocked in the new Mythic Shop in exchange for Mythic Prisms.
Mythic hero skins are unlocked for 50 Mythic Prisms with a starting set of customizations and then can be leveled up with 10 Mythic Prisms per level to unlock additional customizations.
Introducing Mythic Prisms Mythic Prisms can be earned in the Premium Battle Pass and used in the Mythic Shop to purchase the current featured Mythic hero skin for the season and select previous Mythic hero skins.
Earning Mythic Prisms in the Premium Battle Pass is the fastest and easiest way to unlock a Mythic hero skin and all customizations each season.
Competitive Updates Competitive Role-Specific Titles End-of-season titles for Competitive Role Queue now include the role the rank was achieved in.
Match history will display the following: Map / Game Mode, Heroes / Role, Date, Score, Results of the match Match History can now be selected to open the Game Report for a match.

A significant one is Overwatch 2 season 10. As part of a significant overhaul of the new hero releases process, Blizzard is giving players a new hero, Venture, who will be freely accessible to all Overwatch 2 owners. An additional teaser for the upcoming Clash game mode, which will debut with season 10, features a (mostly) brand-new map.

A preview of the new game mode in Clash.

In Overwatch 2, Clash is a planned core game mode. Teams must engage in back-and-forth combat over five capture points, with the winning team scoring one point for each objective they capture. Teams can win in two different ways: either by controlling all five goals simultaneously, or by scoring five points more than the opposition team. Through April 29th, Clash will be accessible as a free trial.

The way to play Clash?

On a mirrored map, there are five objectives in total, arranged in a linear pattern.

A single goal is in progress at any given moment.

The center objective is active when a match begins.

By filling a progress bar and standing on an objective, players can capture it. If rival players are disputing the objective, capture progress cannot be made.

A new objective is initiated from the scoring team’s end and one point is added to their overall score when a team successfully captures the current objective.

It is possible to secure objectives more than once. Next active point will be in opposite direction if a team is pushed off an objective and the other team captures it.

Obtain Win Conditions.

To win the match, fulfill one of the requirements listed below.

To get a total score of 5, a team has to successfully complete five objectives during the game.

On the other side, a team succeeds in capturing the ultimate goal (A or E), regardless of the score.

Hanaoka: A New Chart.

Visit Japan once more in Hanaoka, the first Clash map. Wander through the town’s stores and eateries or enter the once-proud Shimada castle by following the aroma of the Sakura trees.

Skin Updates for Mythic Heroes.

Now, in exchange for Mythic Prisms, mythic hero skins can be unlocked in the new Mythic Shop.

After 50 Mythic Prisms are spent on unlocking the base set of customizations for mythic hero skins, 10 Mythic Prisms are needed for each level up, which opens up more customization options.

Announcing Mythic Prisms.

To purchase the seasonally featured Mythic hero skin as well as some previous Mythic hero skins, Mythic Prisms can be earned in the Premium Battle Pass and used in the Mythic Shop.

To unlock a Mythic hero skin and all of its customizations for each season, the quickest and most straightforward method is to earn Mythic Prisms in the Premium Battle Pass. In-game or through the marketplace of your platform’s store, you can also buy more Mythic Prisms.

Updates in general.

Battle Pass experience points will now be awarded for reaching Weekly Challenge milestones.

All players now have access to the Battle Pass where they can acquire Overwatch Coins that they earned through the Weekly Challenges.

Weekly Challenges have been cut down to one.

Developer Comments: We are making it easier for players to earn Battle Pass XP and streamlining the goals they can pursue as we have increased the quantity of Weekly Challenges over time.

Modifications in Support.

Text and voice chat features are unavailable to players who have been reduced to Endorsement Level 0 due to disruptive behavior until they are back at Endorsement Level 1.

Developer Comment: Since we introduced Overwatch’s Endorsement system, players whose social reports (inappropriate communication, gameplay sabotage, etc.) resulted in action have had their Endorsement Level dropped to Level 0. The ability for Level 0 players to talk in voice channels and type in text chat in most modes will no longer exist; however, that aspect of the system will remain stable.

Put My Name Behind You.

The updated option is located in your Social Options under Streamer Protect.

It’s now possible to conceal your BattleTag from both your friends and other group members during a match.

Enabled players will now see a randomized BattleTag wherever their BattleTag is shown to other players during a match, rather than just the player who has the “Hide My Name” option clearly enabled.

Developer Comments: “Instead of just showing the player who has the “Hide My Name” setting enabled, the Social Options’ “Hide My Name” setting now shows a randomly generated anonymized Battle Tag to every player in a match. The options to “Hide My Name From Friends” and “Hide My Name From Group” now have new settings. “Hide My Name From Friends” is the more important option among these two when members of the group are also friends. There is a sizable collection of expertly made BattleTags available to support this feature. Would it have any silly references or easter eggs?

Forward Motion.

Additional Venture rewards and progression badges/sub-badges. Hero Challenges have rewards available.

Leaver Penalties.

There are now two additional Unranked Leave Penalty thresholds:.

You will be banned from most modes for five minutes if you quit two of the twenty games you were playing.

Playing ten or more of the twenty games will result in a 48-hour ban from most mode queues.

The remaining threshold tiers remain unaltered.

It is now a season ban for leaving 10 games unfinished in competitive play, regardless of how many games are finished.

If a player consistently leaves the game and doesn’t finish enough games to regain good standing, they could still be banned from Competitive Play in as short as five games.

The 20-game window of the Unranked Leaver Penalty now includes games finished in Competitive Play.

Updates that are competitive.

Role-specific titles in competition.

The rank was obtained in a role that is now included in the Competitive Role Queue end-of-season titles.

Open Queue Champion, Champion Support, Champion Tank, and Champion Damage are a few examples.

Competitive Advancement.

Now, the related Competitive Role-Specific title appears on each Role Rank Card.

It is now possible to select a role to view the Match History for that role.

The following details will be shown in the match history: Date, Score, Heroes / Role, Map / Game Mode, and Match Results.

The Game Report for a match can now be accessed by selecting Match History.

Limitations on Grouping.

The Competitive Grouping Restrictions of the past have been eliminated.

There are now two categories for all groups in competitive play: narrow and wide.

To be in a Narrow Group, players ranging from Bronze to Diamond must be within five divisions of one another in their group.

For players to be in a Narrow Group at Master, they must be three divisions apart from one another.

Even if their ranks are close, players at Grandmaster and Champion levels cannot be in Narrow groups. This limitation guarantees the best Narrow matches for our top-ranked players.

Narrow Groups will invariably be paired with either solo players or other Narrow Groups. The Narrow player configuration will always take precedence in a group that contains both Wide and Narrow players.

A wide group is any group that does not fit the requirements.

Players may not queue in wide groups of four. This limitation was put in place to ensure that lone players are never forced to create a Wide match.

Due to the difficulty of finding another group of players with the same ranks in the same roles to match against, Wide Groups have resulted in longer wait times and lower-quality matches.

The group width affects how much a player’s Rank Progress varies following each match.

The group’s ranks will fluctuate less depending on whether they win or lose the more members there are.

All players in a wide group will see less of a change in rank after a win or loss the higher the highest-ranked player in the wide group.

Players will now be notified if the roles they have chosen would create a Wide Group.

The Tier Legend has been revised, and a new banner outlining the previously mentioned guidelines has been added.

Classify Data.

The “Wide” modifier is a new addition that lessens the impact of winning or losing matches on changes in Rank Progress. Your Rank Progress will fluctuate less with each victory or defeat the larger your group.

The term “Demotion” has replaced the previous modifier “Volatile.”. “.

The arrows beneath the modifiers now point from left to right rather than from right to left.

Emotional Defense is a new modifier.

When you avoid dropping out of the Skill Division due to a loss, this modifier shows up on the Rank Progress bar. You will be relegated to the prior Skill Division if you lose the subsequent match.

The Rank Progress bar, which shows the modifiers, now has Victory and Defeat added underneath it.

Golden Armaments.

It is now possible to buy golden weapons using Legacy Competitive Points or 2024 Competitive Points. It is not possible to buy weapons with both currencies combined.

Venture is the New Hero.

An addition to the lineup is Venture.

In Competitive Play, Venture is instantly playable.

Developer Comments: We’ve always wanted to let new heroes into Competitive when a new Overwatch 2 season launches, but this is a pretty significant departure from previous heroes. Before, we wanted to guarantee that newly added heroes had no bugs or unresolved balance problems and that players had enough time to acquire a hero from the Battle Pass. We are certain that Venture is prepared to dive straight into the action, especially in light of the recent hero trial and the current unlocking of all heroes.

When the windup is canceled with Seismic Slam or Power Block, the empowered punch is no longer used.

To retract the Grappling Claw and pull yourself in the direction of the anchor point, hold the jump input while it is attached to the ground. In his hero settings, this action can be reversed.

has a new cooldown of one second if Wrecking Ball doesn’t reach ramming speed before canceling the ability. Hack, Hinder, and stuns will still cause the entire cooldown to be triggered if they interrupt him.

He needs to reach ramming speed before the maximum duration timer starts to run.

Flexible Protective Layer.

Upon reactivation, up to 300 overhealth can be dispersed to allies in the vicinity, with a maximum of 75 per person.

The detection radius of allies and enemies was raised from 10 to 13 meters.

Developer Comment: Adding a direct means of support for Wrecking Ball to aid his allies beyond just disrupting enemy teams, improving the grapple area’s quality of life, and humanizing the hero are the main objectives.

From 100 to 90 total damage over time.

Monitor.

The cooldown was extended from 12 to 13 seconds.

explosive pulse.

The base projectile size shrank from 0.2 meters to 0.1 meters. Right now, the projectile’s total size is 0 points 25 meters.

Developer Comment: Pulse Bomb will need to be used with more accuracy, and Tracer will now need to wait longer before he can safely reengage after driving her away.

It went from 50 to 55 self-heals per second.

Developer Remarks: In light of the Hero Trial from the previous season, we are redistributing support power to allow for more fine tuning.

Bug patches.

Overall.

Hero Mastery Gauntlet: a bug that may have led to more AI allies than intended has been fixed.

A Wall Climb bug that could have allowed Heroes with the passive to climb indefinitely has been fixed.

Fixed a bug that prevented Grandmaster, Diamond, and Masters from playing any effects when they entered the Top 500.

A bug that caused duplicate entries on the Leaderboard to be fixed.

The taskbar’s missing flash notification that appeared when a player joined a game as a backfill has been fixed.

Resolved a potential deactivation issue with jump pads in an earlier update.

Royal Circuit.

Resolved a problem where players were unexpectedly launched by the payload tires.

Heavenly.

A section close to the second point has been fixed where the payload dock might have an adverse effect on Earth Shatter and Tectonic Shock’s capacity to hit bigger heroes.

Heroes.

Echo.

Resolved a problem wherein the use of Duplicate could hinder the counting of deaths in the event that Echo vanished from the map.

Doomsday Plane.

Resolved an issue where Mei’s Ice Wall could have let you pass beneath the map.

A bug where the sounds of Power Block would activate even when it wasn’t preventing damage was fixed.

Ilari.

Captive Sun’s problem affecting targets through ceilings and floors has been resolved.

Crater.

The self-healing passive that Riptire was receiving was fixed.

Resilient Life.

Error fixed: Tree of Life could heal some heroes who were not targets.

Momo.

Overrun and Brigitte’s Shield Bash interacted, causing Mauga to be knocked down while Overrun was active. This has been fixed.

Kindness.

Resolved an issue where the Caduceus Staff would not open when in Pose or the Parasol emote.

Take a chance.

Fixed a bug wherein if the input was pressed while falling through the air and Burrow was active, Drill Dash would not activate while underground.

Fixed an issue where Drill Dash could instantly kill targets or knock them back a great distance while dealing damage multiple times with its first hit.

Vulnerability fixed: Heroes that managed to escape Drill Dash would still be pushed back.

Fixed a bug that occasionally caused Venture to launch very far when using Drill Dash off a ledge while underground.

Fixed a bug that occasionally caused the ability to end too soon when trying to emerge during Burrow near ledges.

Fixed a bug that caused the first-person camera to instantly switch back to third person if you were in the air when your burrow ended.

A bug that prevented the Drill Dash and emerging UI prompts from appearing during burrowing has been fixed.

A bug that could have allowed users to stop the playing of the footfall audio has been fixed.
