The 150th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs has Fierceness, the winner of the Florida Derby, as the 5-2 morning-line favorite.
Under Todd Pletcher’s tutelage, Fierceness was rejected. Draw for the $5 million, Grade 1 Kentucky Derby took place on Saturday night, with 17 post out of 20.
There will be a post at 6:57 p.m. M. this Saturday, May 4. NBC will broadcast the race.
Blue Grass Stakes winner Sierra Leone, trained by Chad Brown, is the No. 2 pick at 3-1 odds in the morning line. Drawn last was Sierra Leone. Two entries.
There were 22 horses entered in total, with Epic Ride and Mugatu included among the other eligible horses. Should one of the top 20 horses be declared unfit prior to 9 a.m. me. A horse on the additional eligible list may take his place on Friday.
