Health officials in the city have not disclosed how many migrants have tested positive for the diseases or at what shelters.

Following the confirmation of a small number of tuberculosis cases at migrant shelters in the Windy City by health officials, Democratic Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez expressed his concern that city officials have not heeded concerns raised about a possible outbreak.

When ambulance receipts revealed people were testing positive for tuberculosis in August, Lopez claimed he had been alerting authorities to a potential crisis.

The number of migrants who have tested positive for the diseases and the shelters where they were housed have not been made public by city health officials. There are migrant cases where the measles has tested positive.

When Lopez made an appearance on “Fox and Friends,” she stated, “This is a crisis we could have avoided, just like with the measles, if we had simply instituted the American standard of vaccinations upon all those migrants being shipped to the city of Chicago.”. ****.

As Democratic-led cities scale back aid, Chicago’s migrant arrests will increase homelessness, according to Lawmaker.

Of the 97 cases of measles reported nationwide in 2024, 56 were in Chicago.

One area of concern, according to Lopez, is the children of migrants seeking asylum who enter the U. s. American children are required to have vaccinations, but public schools are exempt from this requirement.

He said, “That is endangering individuals, families, and communities.”.

Lopez reported that his concerns regarding the migrant shelters have been dismissed with contempt. The great-grandson of immigrants, Lopez allegedly received comments from Chicago government officials accusing him of being xenophobic and anti-immigrant when he raised the topic of measles and tuberculosis.

A MAYOR OF CHICAGO SAYS THAT EVICTION OF MIGRANT SHELTERS IS “A PATHWAY TO STABILITY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY”.

“They can continue to gaslight us all they want, but eventually the truth will surface, and we’re already witnessing it do so gradually and steadily,” he declared.

Lopez went on to say that immigrants are “leapfrogged over” by Americans, and that this has “fed up” Americans. S. to receive assistance and services.

He went on, “This is going to drive a wedge, particularly with our core base of African American and Latino voters who feel as though we have not invested in them the way we have been investing in these migrant asylum seekers,” which is my party, the Democratic Party.
