How the schedule will piece together remains to be seen, but these are the games you should get ready to circle on your calendars upon release — because they’re going to absolutely rule.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills We’ve done this plenty of times before, but it never gets old.
Chiefs vs. Bills is one of the NFL’s great modern rivalries, and what began with offensive shootouts has become more fascinating as Kansas City has committed to defense.
The NFL really crafted this schedule with beef in mind, as this will be the first time Kirk Cousins faces his old team.
Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers The Super Bowl rematch is always fun to watch, and this year there’s a little more to it.
Kansas City had a really strong offseason by solidifying their receiving position with Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy, while also tackling their biggest issue by re-signing Chris Jones to a long-term extension.
New York Jets vs. … whoever Literally circle any Jets game this season.

NEUTRAL

The NFL regular season is rapidly approaching as schedules for the 2024 season were released on Thursday, May 9. Now that the opponents were revealed in January, all that’s left to wait for are the dates and times.

These are the games you should prepare to mark on your calendars upon release — they will undoubtedly rule. How the schedule is put together is still to be seen.

Texas Rangers versus. Buffalo Rats.

Even though we’ve done this a lot previously, it never gets boring. Chiefs versus… The Bills-Cards rivalry is one of the most significant in the modern NFL, and with Kansas City’s dedication to defense, the original offensive shootout rivalry has taken on even more intrigue.

Always, these contests resemble heavyweight boxing championship bouts. A fight breaks out as two powerful players circle each other and trade quick jabs, and then everything goes topsy-turvy.

Enjoying the exploits of Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes is always enjoyable, but this season there’s also the addition of Xavier Worthy, a first-round pick acquired by the Chiefs from the Bills in a trade.

The Baltimore Ravens against… Team Los Angeles Chargers.

Harbaugh vs. will now resume. Harbaugh, to put it as nicely as possible. This is going to be exciting regardless of when it occurs in the season. Ideally, it will happen a little later so Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers have time to establish and become accustomed to their system.

Los Angeles signed J., one of the top two running backs selected by the Ravens in free agency. KK. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, and Jim is aware of the players that both he and his brother respect. Along with two outstanding defenses and two outstanding quarterbacks in Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert, we also get a face-off.

Nothing more is really needed in this situation.

The Pittsburgh Steelers against… The Denver Broncos.

THE STORY!

The Denver Broncos’ salary cap as well as the team’s record suffered greatly from the Russell Wilson experiment. Wilson signed a contract with the Steelers in an attempt to fill their void before being abruptly cut from the team.

For both teams, this is a statement game. Wilson will try to take apart the rebuilding Broncos and demonstrate that he still has it, while Sean Payton will want to try and show that he was correct and Russ was the issue.

Denver still needs a lot of improvement, so don’t expect this to be an especially good game, but it will still be entertaining.

Panthers of Carolina against. Chicago Bears.

In short, the mystery surrounding it all. How can two of the worst teams in the NFL a year ago be exciting to watch?

Having selected Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick, the Bears have garnered a lot of attention, and with good reason. Rome Odunze is added to a receiver room alongside D.J with the first pick. Moore and Allen Keenan. Chicago’s greatest chance to turn the corner is now. The real reason this is intriguing, though, is the past of trade between these teams.

The Panthers, who believe that new head coach Dave Canales can work his magic with Young the way he did with Baker Mayfield in Tampa Bay, are still adamant that they made the right decision in selecting Bryce Young with the first pick in 2023. This is a timeline in which the exchanged No. Given that the Bears had taken Young with the first pick in back-to-back years and dropped Justin Fields, these teams could have easily switched quarterbacks.

It will be a great gauge of how things are going because these are two desperate teams attempting to rebuild.

Falcons of Atlanta versus. Minnesota Vikings.

This will be the first meeting between Kirk Cousins and his former team, so the NFL clearly designed this schedule with rivalry in mind.

Amidst expectations that he would simply re-ink with the Vikings and try to run it back, Cousins’ free agency decision sent shockwaves through the league. Before the Falcons selected Michael Penix Jr., it seemed like they were in win-now mode, which put Minnesota in a position where they had to move to acquire a quarterback. using the No. selection overall of 8.

In 2024, that choice must come up in every conversation about the Falcons.

Watching this will be a lot of fun, regardless of what happens. Although there isn’t a lot of animosity between them, it will be interesting to see if Cousins made the right choice in moving to the NFC South in order to win, or if he would have been better off remaining in Minnesota.

Kansas City Chiefs against… 49ers of San Francisco.

There is a little more to this year’s Super Bowl rematch than just entertainment value.

After resigning Chris Jones to a long-term extension, Kansas City addressed their biggest problem and strengthened their receiving corps with the addition of Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy. For K, it’s full speed ahead. D. , and they seem likely to be involved again.

San Francisco is the place where things seem more precarious. The 49ers appear to be nearing their breaking point due to the endless offseason rumors involving Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk. They are tired of playing the part of the bridesmaid. Whether this team is once again a world beater or if the cracks are beginning to show will be largely determined by this game.

The New York Jets versus. dot. whoever it is.

Every Jets game this season should be circled. When this experiment with Aaron Rodgers ends up a disaster or not, 2024 will tell. Though all the evidence points to New York being able to compete, there is growing belief that Robert Saleh may not be able to hold everything together.

This season will either be the pinnacle of Aaron Rodgers’ NFL career or return the Jets to the stone age, with no chance of success in the future due to their reckless gamble. It’s impossible to forecast which direction this will take, which makes it an exciting game of football.
