While it is designed as a three-player co-op roguelite experience, you can also play Nightreign solo… but it’s really, really hard.
Fortunately, From Software is listening to players and releasing a patch next week to make solo expeditions easier.
The studio announced this patch on the official Elden Ring X account, stating Patch 1.02 arrives next week and includes several bug fixes and improvements for solo expeditions.

Have you tried a solo expedition in Elden Ring Nightreign?
Less than twenty-four hours after its launch, Elden Ring Nightreign has amassed two million players. Although Nightreign is primarily intended as a three-player cooperative roguelite, it is also possible to play it alone, though it is extremely challenging. Thankfully, From Software is taking player feedback into consideration and will be releasing a patch the following week to facilitate solo expeditions.
Patch 1.02, which includes a number of bug fixes and enhancements for solo expeditions, will be released next week, the studio announced on the official Elden Ring X account. What to anticipate: According to From Software, solo expeditions will now have the effect “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat,” which permits revival once per night boss battle, and the quantity of runes earned will be increased.
Since solo players will be able to level up more quickly with more runes, this should make the entire experience easier. Additionally, players will have a better chance of winning Nightreign’s numerous battles if they can revive once during each boss battle. More information regarding Patch 1.02 will be made available the following week, according to Software.
