How much snow fell on Friday?

Precise News

DENVER — Friday’s storm dropped several inches of snow across the Denver metro area overnight.
The jet stream is overhead, which helped create localized bands of heavier snow overnight that favored the north side of the metro area.
That meant there are sharp gradients in those snowfall totals from one side of the metro area to the other.
A Winter Weather Advisory is set to expire at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Denver metro area and the foothills.
The snow is mostly over and done with, but we’ll hold onto some light snow until mid-morning or so.

DENVER: The Denver metro area received several inches of snow overnight from Friday’s storm.

We had four to eight inches of snowfall in the Denver-Boulder corridor. But we only observed a dusting to two inches of accumulation south of Denver’s downtown. Because of the jet stream passing overhead, the north side of the metro area saw heavier snowfall in concentrated areas over the course of the night. This implies that there are notable differences in the snowfall totals between the metro area’s two sides.

The Winter Weather Advisory is scheduled to end at nine in the morning. M. For the foothills and the metro area of Denver, Saturday. We will continue to have some light snow until around mid-morning, but the majority of the snowfall has passed. However, given the high April sun angle, the snow accumulation is probably already finished.

Some advice for clearing snow from trees:.

Keep in mind that wind, snow, or ice accumulation can cause limbs to break and fall at any time.

Before you remove snow from the tree, make sure it is safe and clear of any power lines.

If there is a utility line passing through the branches of a tree or within touching distance, do not try to shake snow off the tree.

As much snow as you can from the branches of the tree by shaking or brushing it off with a broom if utility lines are not overhead. A large, quick movement should be avoided as this could shatter the limb.

Never try using a ladder or climbing a tree to get to higher branches.

Ignore the tree and wait for the utility company to come clear it if it looks like it fell on powerlines.
