The picture in question, which Kim shared on her Instagram story, features Karlie, Khloé Kardashian, W magazine editor-in-chief Sara Moonves, and fashion editor Derek Blasberg.
Honoring Derek’s birthday this week, Kim shared a bunch of photos with him, one of which was the selfie featuring Karlie.

Many fans think that Taylor’s song “thanK you aIMee,” which is notable for being stylized so that the capital letters spell KIM, is a reference to how Kim treated the singer during the highly publicized “snake-gate” controversy in 2016.
In case you missed it, Taylor got into arguments with Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West following the publication of Ye’s contentious line from the song “Famous.”. He sang, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous,” and Taylor’s representative objected, saying that the song was not approved by the singer before it was released.
Kim accused Taylor of lying in public before infamously releasing audio of a phone call between Ye and Taylor in which it seemed that Ye approved of the lyric. She almost completely vanished from the public eye for a year due to the backlash.
The world didn’t know Taylor had never truly approved of the “that bitch” lyric until 2020, when the entirety of her phone conversation with Ye was leaked online.

For those who don’t know, beginning in 2014, Taylor and Karlie had a very close relationship for many years. Yet, it appeared as though the two had a falling out towards the end of 2016. Years later, there were rumors that Karlie had given her manager at the time, Scooter Braun, personal information about Taylor. Taylor later seemed to corroborate these rumors with scathing lyrics.
In light of this, a number of fans perceived Kim’s choice to share a vintage selfie with Karlie this week as a devious dig at Taylor.
The aforementioned photo was posted by Kim on her Instagram story and shows Derek Blasberg, fashion editor, Karlie, Khloé Kardashian, and Sara Moonves, the editor-in-chief of W magazine. Karlie originally shared it in December 2022.
Kim shared a number of pictures with Derek this week in honor of his birthday, including the selfie that included Karlie. Fans quickly began conjecturing that Kim had specifically selected a picture of herself with Karlie to poke fun at Taylor.
