COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado health officials announced Sunday they have confirmed measles in two El Paso County residents.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health, and El Paso County Public Health, those residents were unvaccinated and are recovering at home.
Officials said anyone at these locations during the exposure window and who has developed symptoms should immediately contact their health care provider by phone.
Anyone without a provider should call an urgent care center or emergency department and explain they may have been exposed to measles.
This brings the total number of cases associated with an out-of-state traveler who flew while infectious to six, four passengers on the flight (three Colorado residents and one out-of-state resident), and the two El Paso County residents who were at Denver International Airport during the exposure period.

Fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a distinctive rash that typically appears on the face a few days later and spreads are among the symptoms, according to officials. The MMR vaccine, they claimed, offers robust protection against the illness.
If anyone was at these locations during the exposure window and experienced symptoms, officials advised them to call their healthcare provider right away. Calling an urgent care facility or emergency room and explaining that they may have been exposed to measles is advised for anyone without a provider.
