I don’t know if the next iPad Pro, M4 or not, will replace my model

But for nearly six years, I’ve been using the 2018 iPad Pro—a shockingly long time by my standards.
Based on what’s widely expected in the 2024 iPad Pro—whether it includes an M4 chip or not—I’m eagerly ready to upgrade.
The staying power of the 2018 iPad Pro The 2018 iPad Pro has long proven itself a device ahead of its time.
Sure, there are endless debates about the limitations of iPadOS, but as a hardware product alone, the 2018 iPad Pro had a lot going for it.
Why the 2024 iPad Pro is a sure-fire upgrade With every previous iPad Pro released, there were always a couple nice features that I would appreciate, but which ultimately couldn’t get me to upgrade.
Solid additions, but even collectively, they don’t quite measure up to the “wow” factor that the 2018 model brought.
With the upcoming 2024 model, however, the 2018 version seems to have a truly compelling successor on the way.
M4 or not, the 2024 iPad Pro is the upgrade I’ve been waiting for.

NEUTRAL

I like to switch out my gadgets frequently and always purchase the newest models that Apple manufactures. The iPad has been a conspicuous anomaly. Before I made the iPad my main computer, I would buy almost every new generation. But even by my standards, I’ve been using the 2018 iPad Pro for almost six years, which is a shockingly long period. Furthermore, even with the release of multiple new models in recent years, I’ve never been sufficiently lured to upgrade.

Why? Because of how incredibly well the 2018 model has performed. Nevertheless, I will finally break my current iPad drought next week. Whether or not the 2024 iPad Pro has an M4 chip, I’m eager to upgrade based on what’s generally expected. And many owners for 2018 probably have similar plans, I imagine. I’ll explain.

The 2018 iPad Pro’s durability.

As a technologically advanced device, the 2018 iPad Pro has long since shown its worth. The 2018 iPad Pro had a lot going for it just as a hardware product, even though there are countless discussions concerning the shortcomings of iPadOS. Its boxy, flat-edged design preceded similar design changes for the MacBook and iPhone lines; its A12X Bionic chip added enough power to hold its own against years of subsequent chip iterations; the adoption of USB-C allowed for the support of a plethora of new accessories; and, lastly, its notable bezel reductions created a new look for the iPad era that endures to this day.

Why the iPad Pro in 2024 is a guaranteed improvement.

Every iPad Pro that was released before had a few good features that I would like to have, but they were never enough to convince me to upgrade. Though it’s only been a year or two, the A12X Bionic has finally begun to feel sluggish. Newer, faster chips are always preferable. The 12 point 9-inch model’s mini-LED screen, 5G, and additional Apple Pencil features are among the other noteworthy improvements. Though they are good additions, they fall short of the 2018 model’s “wow” factor even when taken as a whole. Not quite, but not far off.

However, it appears that a very attractive replacement for the 2018 model is on the way in the form of the 2024 model.

Apart from all the versions that have been released over the last six years, the new iPad Pro ought to include:.

Fresh OLED screens—a first for iPad—for the iPad Pro in both sizes.

More accessories geared toward professionals, such as the recently released Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil.

Possible highlights include the company’s first M4 chip and a few software add-ons to make the most of it.

The top bezel in landscape mode finally houses the front-facing camera.

overall body slenderness and probably even lower weight.

When considered as a whole, this seems to be the iPad that will define the market for years to come. The 2024 iPad Pro will be a true evolution of the device, with improvements to the chip, display, new accessories, and other hardware design elements. For this reason, it appears destined to be among the most future-proof iPads ever produced, following in the footsteps of its 2018 predecessor.

I’ve been waiting for the upgrade, whether it’s the 2024 iPad Pro or not.
