A new bug in the YouTube app that obscures a crucial component of the user interface is being investigated by Google. Users are unable to access certain pages because the bug obscures YouTube’s navigation bar.

Finding content on YouTube is a little more difficult due to yet another bug. Google reports that the problem causes users to see a blank area where the YouTube app’s navigation bar should be on Android devices. Normally, the library tabs and subscriptions are located in that bar, but it seems that many users aren’t using it.

Google notes that Premium users may also be experiencing problems, but it appears that YouTube’s free tier users are the ones most affected. With more than 1,500 affirmative votes, the original forum post suggests that many users are having the same problem.

Many more people who haven’t cast a vote in the forum are probably seeing this bug.

This occurs after a significant glitch on YouTube occurred a few months ago. The user was presented with random content that may not be to their liking after that bug effectively cleared the home screen of library videos and recommendations. The problem has been resolved since then.

Google has confirmed that it is investigating the navigation bar bug in YouTube’s Android app, but it has not provided a timeline for fixing it.
