President-elect Trump said Sunday that former special counsel Jack Smith shouldn’t be allowed to “issue a ‘report’ on a complete and total Witch Hunt against me.” “Why would Deranged Jack Smith be allowed to issue a ‘report’ on a complete and total Witch Hunt against me, strictly for political purposes, when he was thrown off the case and ultimately dismissed by the DOJ,” Trump said in a Truth Social post, using an abbreviation for Department of Justice (DOJ).
Attorney General Merrick Garland has said he is not going to release the Mar-a-Lago volume of Smith’s report because of an ongoing case against the two co-defendants of the president-elect.
Cannon blocked the release of the report for an extra three days following a ruling from the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The defendants had also turned to the 11th Circuit for help, but the appeals court did not go ahead with an emergency motion to block the release of the report.

On Sunday, President-elect Trump declared that former special counsel Jack Smith should not be permitted to “issue a’report’ on a complete and total Witch Hunt against me.”. “”.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump used an acronym for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to ask why “Deranged Jack Smith, who was thrown off the case and ultimately dismissed by the DOJ, would be allowed to issue a’report’ on a complete and total Witch Hunt against me, strictly for political purposes.”.
He went on to say, “Therefore, to put it nicely, he was illegitimately involved in this political persecution, and all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by our unfortunate government were, frankly, wasted!”. “The public overwhelmingly chose me to be their president, despite the fact that he has already filed thousands of rejected statements and documents against me that were a “joke.”.
Smith’s final report from his investigation into the president-elect has been anticipated by the Department of Justice.
The volume of the former special counsel’s report on the documents case and another examining the president-elect’s attempts to obstruct the transfer of power following the 2020 presidential election, however, has been set aside in a recent legal battle with Trump and his two co-defendants in the Mar-a-Lago documents case.
The Mar-a-Lago volume of Smith’s report will not be released, according to Attorney General Merrick Garland, because the two co-defendants of the president-elect are still facing legal action.
The remainder of the report has been released more slowly, though, as a result of a move made earlier this week by the two co-defendants, who turned to U. S. . help from District Judge Aileen Cannon. Cannon halted the report’s release for an additional three days after the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision. Although the defendants had also sought assistance from the 11th Circuit, the appeals court decided against filing an urgent motion to prevent the report’s publication.
