HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Schools, city services and military bases across the Hampton Roads region will be impacted Tuesday due to expected winter weather overnight.
Gloucester County Gloucester County Public Schools will remain closed Tuesday, with all games and other student activities canceled.
Hampton Hampton City Schools and offices will be closed Tuesday, which includes all after-school and evening activities.
Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads will also operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday.
Williamsburg-James City County Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools will be closed for students and staff Tuesday.

The National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook for northeastern North Carolina and southeastern Virginia calls for minor snow accumulations of less than one inch, with cold temperatures that could result in black ice on the roads. Winter storm warnings remained in effect for areas north of Hampton Roads through Tuesday morning.
Due to the predicted bad weather, WAVY.com has compiled a list of public school divisions, military bases, and city services that have announced delays and closures. Chesapeake.
Chesapeake city offices, libraries, community centers, and courts, including the Circuit Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and General District Court, will not open until 10 a.m. M. To find out the daily schedule expectations, city workers who have questions should speak with their supervisors.
Chesapeake Public Schools will be delayed by two hours on Tuesday. Preschool will begin an hour later than usual in the afternoon, and all morning sessions are cancelled. The afternoon session will proceed as usual at the Chesapeake Career Center, but the morning session has been canceled. Unless instructed otherwise by a supervisor, all staff members are expected to report on a two-hour delay.
The opening time of Sumitomo Drive Technologies is 10 a.m. A. Tuesday.
The County of Currituck (N. A. ).
Tuesday, there will be a two-hour delay in Currituck County schools. On days with delayed schedules, breakfast and morning YMCA care are not available. Employees will follow Option 2, and they can check their email for more information.
Pennsylvania County/Elizabeth City (N. C. ).
On Tuesday, Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public Schools will be open three hours later than usual. Road conditions will be assessed by its transportation team at six in the morning. A. Tuesday. If a change from a delay to a school closure is required, a decision will be communicated by 7:30 a.m. A.
Gates County (N. A. ).
On Tuesday, Gates County Schools and New Beginning Daycare will be open with a two-hour delay.
Gloucester County.
All student events, including games, will be canceled on Tuesday, and Gloucester County Public Schools will remain closed. Their direct supervisors may mandate that essential personnel report to work. In an effort to compensate for lost teaching time, Jan. 17 will now be considered a full school day.
Hilton.
All after-school and evening activities in Hampton City will be suspended on Tuesday, along with all schools and offices. It stated that January would make up the lost instructional day. 28, which was intended to be a day for staff members to advance professionally. The County of Hertford (N. A. ).

On Tuesday, students and the majority of staff will not be able to access any public schools or offices in Newport News. Leaders of the school division will keep an eye on the weather and traffic conditions and make any necessary schedule adjustments. Employees and families will receive the appropriate notifications.

Norfolk. .
The bad weather that is predicted for Tuesday will cause Norfolk Public Schools to be closed. In order to secure and maintain facilities, essential personnel will receive instructions from their supervisors. The school division website, Facebook, X, Channel 47, and emails will all provide staff and families with the most recent information.
At 11 a.m., Norfolk city offices and facilities, such as the Slover, libraries, and recreation centers, will open. M. The way waste is collected has not changed. At ten in the morning, Norfolk Circuit Court will open. M. with jurors arriving at 10 a.m. M. The General District, Juvenile, and Domestic Relations courts will be shut down.
On Tuesday, all essential non-mission personnel at Naval Station Norfolk will operate with a two-hour delay. As instructed by their unit leadership, mission essential personnel should report to work. Meanwhile, civilians and sailors assigned to tenant organizations should inquire about their reporting status and instructions from their respective chain of command.
There will also be a two-hour delay in Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads on Tuesday.
County of Perquimans (N. C. ).
There will be a two-hour delay in Perquimans County Schools’ operations on Tuesday.
Portsmouth.
Tuesday, there will be a two-hour delay in the operation of all Portsmouth Public Schools and administrative offices. Tuesday, there will also be a two-hour delay in City of Portsmouth offices.
There will be a two-hour delay in operations Tuesday at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, its branch, and the TRICARE Prime clinics. Anyone scheduled to arrive before 9:30 a.m. A. or call the clinic to reschedule if someone is unable to attend their appointment.
Southampton County.
Public schools in Southampton County will not be open on Tuesday.

The city offices in Suffolk will open later than planned at 10 a.m. A. Tuesday. . There will be a two-hour delay in attendance at Suffolk Public Schools. The before-school programs offered by Suffolk Public and Recreation have been cancelled. Programs for after-school activities will continue as usual.
At six o’clock, the Chuckatuck, Morgan Memorial, and North Suffolk libraries will close. m. Monday. . East Suffolk, Curtis Milteer, and Bennett’s Creek recreation centers will close at 6 p.m. on Monday, and after-school programs at the joint-use Suffolk Parks & Recreation facilities were canceled. m. Monday.
County of Sussex.
Government buildings in Sussex County will be delayed by two hours on Tuesday.
Virginia Beach.
