A former White House economist is sounding the alarm on Vice President Kamala Harris’ economic agenda after former President Trump warned the U.S. would suffer a “1929-style depression” under a Harris presidency.
FORMER WHITE HOUSE ECONOMIST WARNS OF WALZ’S ‘DISTURBING’ POLICIES: ‘AVOWED SOCIALIST’ Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal as a senator in 2019, a proposal to stem climate change that includes a ban on fracking.
Since becoming the Democratic nominee, however, Harris has appeared to walk back her support for a nationwide fracking ban.
If you look at the way the campaign pulled that back, they said, well, she’s not opposed to all fracking.
In other words, yes, she’s opposed to fracking,” Hassett said.
Following President Trump’s warning to the U.S., a former White House economist is raising concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris’ economic agenda. S. would experience a “Depression akin to 1929” if Harris were to become president.
Kevin Hassett stated on “The Big Money Show” on Thursday, “I think a lot of what she said in the past about what she really wants to do, like the Green New Deal, for example… getting carbon-neutral by 2030 – all that kind of stuff would cause a deep recession toward carbon.”.
Achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 is improbable. Fossil fuel combustion produces 75% of the electricity we use. That means you’ll just have to shut down the economy, so how are they going to accomplish that if they try?”.
AVOWED SOCIALIST AND FORMER WHITE HOUSE ECONOMIST WARNS OF WALZ’S “DISTURBING” POLICIES.
As a senator in 2019, Harris co-sponsored the Green New Deal, a plan to combat climate change that forbids hydraulic fracturing.
Though Harris has seemed to rescind her support for a federal ban on hydraulic fracturing since she was selected as the Democratic nominee.
Though the vice president declared in 2019 that there was “no question I’m in favor” of fracking, Harris’ campaign claimed last month that the vice president “does not support a total ban on fracking.”.
Following his “weird” sociological comparison, Harris’s running mate faced renewed scrutiny.
“If you consider all the things she claims to be in favor of, such as providing jobs for all, you will see that she is against fracking. The campaign attempted to retract that statement by stating that the woman is not against fracking altogether. Put another way, she does not support hydraulic fracturing,” Hassett stated.
As a 2024 contender, Harris made her first significant policy speech on Friday, praising the U. s. citing the US economy as the greatest in the world and highlighting the need to lower housing and food prices for Americans.
A $3 trillion tax plan intended to raise taxes on the wealthy was one of Harris’s economic policies during her unsuccessful 2019 presidential campaign. Similar to her current campaign, she aimed to lower cash bail for criminals, raise the federal minimum wage, provide low-income renters with billions of dollars in tax credits, and establish a universal health care system modeled after Bernie Sanders.
“She has supported a plethora of measures in the past that, taken as a whole, would accomplish exactly what [Trump] is stating. “I suppose the query is whether she’s retreating from that,” Hassett remarked. “Her advisors include Gene Sperling and other former presidents, among others, whom she has enlisted. It’s possible that she will attempt to run for office by taking a moderate stance on policy. “.
