CHICAGO (WLS) — The first of two permitted demonstrations is happening on Sunday afternoon in the Loop.

The next permitted protest is scheduled for Monday near the United Center.
Protestors will march from Union Park to Park 578 just a couple blocks north of the United Center.

Protesters are allowed to march into Grant Park along South Michigan Avenue, stopping at the Logan Statue by East 9th Street. The demonstration will take place approximately 1.5 miles from where they began.
Officials told ABC7 that there will be intermittent street closures in the southbound lanes of several downtown streets, extending from East Illinois Street to East Roosevelt Road.

The March for Bodies Outside Unjust Laws is the name of the demonstration. Reacting to the Democratic Party’s alleged betrayal of LGBTQ and reproductive rights, demonstrators said they are against the party’s actions. They intend to demonstrate in support of those demanding an end to the Gaza conflict.
“We sincerely encourage individuals to exercise their right to free speech, and in fact, demonstrators will have a designated space to do so,” Senator Tammy Duckworth stated. “If people so choose, they can organize protest marches; we have even established a march and parade route.
