On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis presides over a Mass

Given that the Pope’s Easter homily had already been given at the St. As is customary at this daytime Mass, the Holy Father did not give another homily at St. Peter’s Basilica the previous evening.
During the Easter Vigil Mass, the Holy Father recounted the amazing tale of the Lord’s Resurrection and discussed the shock and wonder of the women who had gone to the tomb where Jesus had been laid.
The Pope will deliver the noontime Urbi et Orbi from the central loggia, or balcony, of St. following this morning’s Easter Mass. granting the people of Rome and the entire world his Apostolic blessing from St. Peter’s Basilica.
But first, the Pope made his way around the happy pilgrims in St. waving from his popemobile, he cheerfully greeted people in St. Peter’s sq\. and all along Via della Conciliazione.
The Easter Triduum culminates on Sunday evening with Vespers, following the Easter Mass on Sunday morning.
But up until the Solemnity of Pentecost in May, the Easter liturgical season will still last.
