Santa Ana winds and extremely dry conditions add to the situation’s rapid change. There is currently no chance of controlling the fires, according to authorities.

Many Hollywood celebrities reside in the charming suburbs that have been torn apart by the Palisades fire, the largest and closest to the coast. Over a thousand structures have already been demolished.

This is how the fires have spread and how the Los Angeles region is being affected.

A summary of the fires that are currently burning.

At this time, four large fires are being fought.

Initially reported at 10:30 (18:30 GMT) on Tuesday, the Palisades fire expanded from 20 acres to over 200 acres in just 20 minutes, then more than tenfold in a few more hours. So far, at least 30,000 people have received orders to evacuate their homes.

Six hours after it started, the Eaton fire had spread to 1,000 acres. Around 18:30 local time on Tuesday, it began in Altadena, which is located in the hills above Pasadena.

Just to the north of San Fernando is the Hurst fire. Local officials say that it started burning Tuesday at about 22:10 local time and spread to 500 acres. Santa Clarita, which is nearby, has issued evacuation orders as a result.

The Woodley fire, which is currently spanning 75 acres, is the most recent of the four fires. It started on Wednesday at around 06:15 local time.

What caused the Palisades fire to spread?

More than 2,900 acres have been burned by the Palisades fire thus far. As can be seen from the map above, the fire spread quickly and grew more intense in a matter of hours. It covered 772 acres on Tuesday just after 14:00, and in just four hours, it had grown to roughly its present size.

Thousands of people have been evacuated while over 1,400 firefighters attempt to contain the fire.
