Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) said Sunday that he has no reservations about President-elect Trump’s choice of Kash Patel to lead the FBI.
“Do you have any reservations about Kash Patel serving in that role?” CNN’s Kasie Hunt asked the New York Republican on “State of the Union.” “No,” Lawler said.
And that should be the objective and the goal of every American,” Lawler said Sunday.
“And, obviously, that’s what my hope is as the Department of Justice moves forward under Pam Bondi and the FBI under Kash Patel,” he added.

Rep. Lawler Mike (R-N. Yep. declared on Sunday that President-elect Trump’s selection of Kash Patel to head the FBI is acceptable to him.

On “State of the Union,” CNN’s Kasie Hunt questioned the New York Republican, “Do you have any reservations about Kash Patel serving in that role?”. “.”.

“No,” Lawler replied. Since Donald Trump ran on a platform of reforming the Department of Justice and the FBI, I’m not sure why anyone would find any of this shocking. “”.

Legislators and former officials have had differing opinions about Patel’s appointment as FBI chief. But Republicans have applauded Patel’s choice.

The former Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Andrew McCabe said on Saturday that the situation was “a terrible development for the men and women of the FBI and also for the nation that depends on a highly functioning professional independent Federal Bureau of Investigation.”.

Patel has previously pushed for the revocation of security clearances for individuals who looked into Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, as well as mass firings, especially at the FBI and Justice Department.

“It is awful that Americans don’t trust the FBI and the Department of Justice. Thus, it goes without saying that we want a system that is reformed, serves the interests of Americans, and brings criminals to justice. And that ought to be the aim and the purpose of every American,” Lawler stated on Sunday.

As the FBI under Kash Patel and the Department of Justice under Pam Bondi proceed, he continued, “that’s obviously what I hope.”.

“A brilliant lawyer, investigator, and ‘America First’ fighter, Patel has dedicated his career to exposing corruption, defending justice, and protecting the American people,” Trump wrote in a Saturday post on Truth Social. “.”.

“As an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution, he played a crucial role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax,” he continued.

“The men and women of the FBI keep up their efforts every day to defend Americans against an ever-increasing number of threats. In a statement to The Hill on Sunday, the FBI stated that Director Wray’s attention is still on the bureau’s employees, the people we work with, and the people we work for.
