It was an unprecedented break between the US and Israel

Former national security adviser John Bolton criticized President Biden after he threatened to halt weapons to Israel pending an invasion of Rafah, with Bolton calling it an unprecedented break in allyship.
“This is the kind of break between the U.S. and Israel that is just unprecedented, to put this sort of pressure on an American ally like that in the middle of what they see as an existential threat,” Bolton said.
Bolton continued, saying people think Biden made the declaration because he is responding to pressure from “the left wing of the Democratic Party and the concern that they would stay home in November” and not vote for him.
He predicted that there’s likely a lot going on behind the scenes because the Israeli government hasn’t responded directly to what Biden had to say.
In remarks delivered last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would stand alone if it had to.
Still, Bolton said he’s never seen anything like Biden’s threat, essentially saying it would cut Israel “loose if they proceed.” He argued that this is a signal of weakness on Biden’s behalf and sends “a very bad” message to Russia and China.
“I mean, if we won’t come to Israel’s support, what are we going to do … if Russia or China threatened countries along their borders that are not so close to the United States?” he said.
“I mean, people have to wonder … if we’re not going to follow through on our commitments to Israel, who will we follow through on?”

Following President Biden’s threat to suspend arms sales to Israel in anticipation of an invasion of Rafah, former national security adviser John Bolton denounced the president, calling it an unprecedented betrayal of loyalty.

Bolton spoke with John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “The Cats Roundtable,” highlighting the ways in which the U.S. S. Israel-Hamas conflict meddling has “reached an incredible peak.”. “.

On Wednesday, Biden said that should Israel invade the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing to safety, the U. S. will not provide the armaments.

This type of separation between the U.S. s. and Israel, which is simply unprecedented, to exert such pressure on an American ally in the midst of what they perceive to be an existential threat, according to Bolton.

According to Bolton, there is a belief that Biden made the statement in response to pressure from the Democratic Party’s left wing and the fear that voters would abstain from voting in November.

Since the Israeli government hasn’t directly responded to what Biden said, he predicted that there’s probably a lot going on behind the scenes.

Israel would stand alone if necessary, according to statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week.

Nevertheless, Bolton declared that he had never witnessed anything akin to Biden’s warning, which effectively stated that Israel would be “loose if they proceed.”. He maintained that Biden is being weak here and that China and Russia are receiving “a very bad” message as a result.

He said, “I mean, what are we going to do if Russia or China threatened countries along their borders that are not so close to the United States if we won’t come to Israel’s aid?”. People must be wondering, “I mean, who will we follow through on if we’re not going to honor our commitments to Israel?”.
