Israeli forces deny opening fire

The Israel Defense Forces denied accusations that its troops opened fire on a group of Gazan civilians who were waiting for aid Thursday.
The IDF said its preliminary investigation shows that an hour before a convoy of 31 humanitarian aid trucks arrived at the roundabout, “armed Palestinians” opened fire on the civilians.

More than 31,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 72,000 others have been injured in fighting in Gaza since Oct. 7, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

Accusations that its soldiers opened fire on a group of Gazan civilians waiting for assistance on Thursday were refuted by the Israel Defense Forces.

The Gaza Ministry of Health, which is under the control of Hamas, reports that a shooting at Gaza City’s Kuwait Roundabout, where relief organizations distribute goods, left at least 20 people dead and 155 injured.

According to the IDF, its preliminary investigation reveals that “armed Palestinians” opened fire on the civilians one hour prior to a convoy of thirty-one humanitarian aid trucks pulling into the roundabout.

“The Palestinian gunmen kept firing as the convoy of Gazans started robbing the aid trucks as they were pulling in. A statement from the IDF stated that several Gazan civilians were also run over by the trucks.

There’s no proof that any of its members fired on the civilians, according to the IDF’s current analysis of the incident. Furthermore, the investigation conducted by the IDF revealed that there was “no tank fire [or] air-strike” at the location.

The IDF says the inquiry is still underway.

According to the IDF, Hamas has been blaming Israel for the violence that has occurred at aid drop-off locations in Gaza during the past few weeks, including the incident in which over 100 people died in Gaza City last month while waiting for aid.

More humanitarian supplies for Gaza have been reaching the region in recent days from a variety of countries and organizations.

The World Central Kitchen (WCK) sent about 200 tons of food and water to Gaza on Friday, and the NGO reports that the supplies arrived on a rescue vessel.

“Nearly half a million meals’ worth of food are included in the shipment,” WCK tweeted.

The NGO reports that another boat carrying 300 tons of food is getting ready for delivery.

On October, terrorists led by Hamas carried out an attack in southern Israel. Israeli authorities claim that on July 7, they killed over 1,200 people and kidnapped 253 more.

In the fighting in Gaza since October, over 31,000 Palestinians have lost their lives and over 72,000 have been wounded. The Gaza Health Ministry, under the control of Hamas, reports 7.
