Two alleged looters, one of whom was dressed as a firefighter, were arrested by L.A. County Deputy Sheriff’s Sunday on Pacific Coast Highway in Pacific Palisades.
Photos of the two individuals show them in handcuffs sitting on the sidewalk just outside the Getty Villa at 17985 Pacific Coast Highway, as deputies searched them.
No information was provided on the alleged looters’ identities or if they were caught with any stolen property.
Approximately 50 miles away in Irwindale, firefighters battling a small brush fire near Rivergrade Road and the 605 Freeway spotted an alleged arsonist starting fires.
L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman is set to announce charges tomorrow against suspects in several recent arrests for arson and looting.

While the exact time of the arrests is unknown, a local photographer reportedly saw the two riding a scooter and a moped. One of them was wearing jeans, fire boots, and a yellow fire jacket with Cal Fire’s previous acronym, CDF, which stood for California Department of Forestry and Fire, displayed on the arrest photos.
Eric Fox told KTLA, “I saw them riding up PCH and them up.”. The deputies had already arrested them when I arrived at the checkpoint to report them. “”.
Along with CHP and a national guardsman who were all staffing the checkpoint along PCH, two deputies from LASD’s Santa Clarita Station’s crime prevention unit who were helping with the Palisades Fire made the arrests.

The identities of the alleged looters and whether they were found in possession of any stolen goods were not disclosed.
In Irwindale, about 50 miles away, firefighters fighting a small brush fire near Rivergrade Road and the 605 Freeway noticed a suspected arsonist lighting fires. Police detained Ruben Montes, a 29-year-old resident of Baldwin Park, who was identified as the suspect.
In the past five days, 39 people have been arrested in evacuation zones in Santa Monica, according to officials. Ten of these individuals were found in possession of burglary tools and are therefore regarded as burglary suspects.
