With the Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Ultra 2, managing notifications is even simpler with a simple wrist flick gesture. A user can quickly turn their wrist over and back to dismiss a notification if they raise it to check it but aren’t ready to reply. The wrist flick gesture can be used to return to the watch face, silence timers and alarms, and dismiss notifications and incoming calls.
To analyze a user’s wrist movement, the wrist flick gesture uses a machine learning model in conjunction with the accelerometer and gyroscope of the Apple Watch.
