After starting the mostly civil if occasionally awkward interview with some chit-chat about Curb, the conversation turned to Hines’ 11-year-marriage to Kennedy.
“What about access access to vaccines?,” Hostin said.
“They both want access to vaccines,” Hines replied.
From there the conversation went on to the topic of misinformation and disinformation about Covid, circumcision, baby formula and food dyes.
“So don’t worry.” The conversation ended with Hines saying she was proud of her husband and Goldberg thanking her and inviting her back.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm actress Cheryl Hines is married to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faced questions from The View’s co-hosts today regarding her husband’s views on vaccines, his choice to back Donald Trump, and his lack of medical training.

The interview began with some small talk about Curb, which was generally polite but occasionally awkward, and then moved on to Hines’ 11-year marriage to Kennedy.

After co-host Joy Behar joked, “That’s for sure,” the discussion really took off.

Sunny Hostin, her co-host, initiated the conversation by inquiring if Hines agreed with her husband’s choice to drop out of the 2024 presidential contest and back Donald Trump. She questioned if she had heard any worries she might have had about that.

I always talk to my husband about everything, so for Bobby, that was a really tough choice to make with President Trump, Hines said. Hines, a former Democrat and registered Independent, acknowledged that she was first “guarded” about Kennedy’s choice.

“It was complicated,” she remarked. “Because that represents a significant political shift. Hines continued by stating that Trump and Kennedy “sat down and talked” and shared “a lot of common goals.”. She mentioned that both men wanted prescription drug prices in the US to drop.

“How about access to vaccines?” Hostin questioned.

“Both of them desire access to vaccines,” Hines said.

Behar jumped back in, saying, “The issue we’re having is that it appears that Bobby and Trump are questioning the vaccine’s effectiveness, which makes Americans extremely anxious. Hines then mentioned a 60 Minutes piece about the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, which has made billions of dollars in payouts for vaccine-related injuries.

Hines added, “Yes, vaccines are important and a significant component of our healthcare system. My question is, can we do better? Could we improve, make them safer, and pay attention to parents who say, “My child changed after receiving the vaccine, stopped hitting markers, and stopped developing the way they were developing?”. ‘”.

The overwhelming body of evidence refutes the idea that vaccines cause autism. [].

In response, moderator Whoopi Goldberg said, “This is not your fight, really, to be fair, this is your husband’s.” The conversation then shifted to Tylenol and autism (“Consult your doctor,” Hines advised). However, I would like to point out that he is not a doctor or a professional, and frequently when he speaks, he does not have the best information. Additionally, some of the things he suggested put me or my OB-GYN at a disadvantage. And do you think it makes you pause?

Hines then changed course and stated that “one of Obama’s Secretaries of HHS was an economist” and that “90 percent of Secretaries of HHS have not been doctors.”. In response, Hostin stated that the majority of HHS Secretaries have backgrounds in science, if not medicine.

“I just wanted to follow up because Bobby’s background, everything I have seen him do, he has dedicated his career to suing big corporations because of toxins that have been affecting people’s health… He was part of the team that sued Monsanto because of Roundup, a pesticide that was causing cancer,” Hines said after a commercial break. GMOs, correct? He brought health-related lawsuits against Dupont and Exxon because they were causing issues for people. “”.

“But the problem, with all due respect,” Hostin retorted, “is that your husband is the least qualified head of the Department of Health and Human Services that we have ever had.”. “”.

“Underqualified compared to an economist?” Hines answered.

The topic of false and misleading information regarding COVID, circumcision, infant formula, and food coloring was then discussed. The topic of Kennedy’s brain worm was inevitably brought up.

Behar remarked, “Just so we don’t have to make any more jokes about it, does he or does he not have a brain worm?”.

“It consumed a small portion of his brain and perished,” Hines stated. Thus, don’t be concerned. “.”.

As the discussion came to an end, Goldberg thanked Hines and extended an invitation for her to return, and Hines expressed her pride in her husband. Hines uttered a fictitious sigh of frustration and asked, “Really?
