No. 1 The field of 64 and college baseball fans watching were awakened to the reality of Oregon’s sudden, early elimination on the second day of the 2025 NCAA baseball tournament regionals.

The regular season champions of the Big Ten and No. As the first national seed to have their season end, the Ducks’ crash and burn solidified their position as the 12th seed.

Surprisingly, it also hinted at the grim reality that would await other top seeds less than twenty-four hours later. Sunday saw the elimination of four additional regional hosts, including the No. First and second national seeds.

See the difficult third day for the national seeds.

No. A historic tournament loss is suffered by Vanderbilt.

For the moment, Music City will perform a more somber song.

No. 1 No. eliminated Vanderbilt. 4 Wright State on Sunday, losing 5-4 and missing the regional final after their last-inning comeback was unsuccessful.

It was the first no. Among the top four seeds to miss the Super Regional round, one national seed failed to make it to the regional final. The Commodores received the No. 2 for the second time. They were the first national seed, losing in the regional round in 2007.

Vandy was hit hard by the Raiders, who scored four runs in the first inning and added another in the third. The standout performer, however, was Griffen Paige, the starting left-hander.

Cam Allen, a right-hander, no-hit Vanderbilt through six innings before being removed on Friday, and the sophomore continued where Allen left off. With only one hit and two runs allowed in eight innings, he was all but invincible.

The Commodores, who were behind 5-1 going into the last inning, concentrated on a two-out comeback, scoring three runs as they were down to their final out. RJ Austin, the center fielder, flew out to right field to end the comeback.

NO UNDERDOGS ON TOP. The NCAA baseball tournament regionals’ second day saw four seeds shine and create history.

No. 1 On consecutive days, Texas loses to No. UTSA 2.

The season ended for Vanderbilt five hours ago, and the No. Texas, the second-seeded national seed, suffered a similar outcome.

The Longhorns were defeated by the Roadrunners on Saturday and Sunday, losing 7-4 to UTSA in an elimination game.

Second time in a row, the No. Both the top and second national seeds were eliminated from the Super Regionals.

UTSA’s pitching staff left Texas without a response for the first seven innings. The Longhorns had nine strikeouts over seven innings, including five in the sixth and seventh, in addition to back-to-back doubles in the fourth to score a run. Over the course of five innings, UTSA right-hander Gunnar Brown allowed just one run on six hits and four strikeouts.

In the final two innings, the Longhorns made things interesting by hitting two home runs to reduce the Roadrunners’ lead to three, but it was insufficient to mount a comeback.

No. Oklahoma State finishes third. Georgia’s season began with a walk-off homer.

“Home run” has meant “no.”. 1. Georgia’s middle name throughout the season. With nine players who have hit ten or more home runs, the NCAA DI leader in big flies (144), and a ballpark that encourages home runs, the term “Bashin Bulldogs” has a lot of merit.

Sadly, their historic season came to an end because of that trump card.

No. 3 Brock Thompson, a third baseman for Oklahoma State, defeated the No. 3 hitter with a walk-off home run. Complete its unlikely ninth-inning comeback against 7th-seeded Georgia, 11-9.

The Bulldogs had a 9-7 lead going into the last inning, but two batters in, Cowboys center fielder Kollin Ritchie hit his fourth home run of the regionals to tie the score at 9-9.

The meeting was sent to extras by UGA’s right-hander Zach Harris, but Thompson stepped in first. He drove the homer in the opposing field into the trees in the left field.

OSU had six batters that inning, and five of them made it to base.

No. 3 Kentucky surpasses No. First, Clemson.

No. 1 Clemson had no response to the question “no.”. losing 16–4 in the elimination game on day three to Kentucky.

After giving up a total of 11 runs, five in the third and six in the fourth innings, the Tigers’ chances of winning quickly decreased. During the two frames, each Wildcat batted twice.

With only three hits in the first four innings compared to the Wildcats’ eleven, Clemson’s bats weren’t nearly as effective as Kentucky’s.

The Tigers, one of only two programs in the nation to host a regional each of the previous three seasons, have now missed the Super Regionals twice in a row.
