The third episode of season 51 of the late-night comedy sketch series premiered on Saturday, October 9. 18, while the 26-year-old singer serves as both the musical guest and the host.
The “Taste” singer participated in a re-enacted Domingo Cold Open and portrayed a 12-year-old male podcast host during the performance. She also performed “Manchild” and “Nobody’s Son” in its uncensored form. There seemed to be a technical glitch in the episode when Carpenter played a female boss in a sketch.

Monologue by Sabrina Carpenter is the best.
Due to college football delaying the start of Saturday Night Live, Carpenter’s monologue seemed to have been interrupted. However, by humorously responding to the criticism she received for the cover art of her most recent album, Man’s Best Friend, the Grammy winner quickly made viewers forget their misery at having to wait for the show to begin.
According to Carpenter, “the cover kind of freaked out some people.”. I don’t know why, but it was just me on my hands and knees, with an invisible person tugging my hair. However, people are unaware that’s simply how they cropped it.
She joked, “If you zoom out, it’s actually a photo from the 50th anniversary special of Bowen [Yang] helping me up by the hair.”. “Martin Short said something like, ‘Daddy needs his mini quiche,’ and pushed me out of the buffet line. ‘”.
Yang was not present in the episode, even though he was mentioned. He posted on his Instagram Stories, “I’m missing the show tonight, but it will be so much fun,” and, “Sab is incredible.”. “.”.
In one of the episode’s most entertaining sketches, Carpenter joined forces with Veronika Slowikowska, Jane Wickline, and Chloe Fineman to host a podcast with a group of 12-year-old boys.
After being invited to appear on the podcast to talk about “fire” foods, James Austin Johnson made an unexpected appearance as President Donald Trump.
“I want to ask you guys a question now. “Do you believe that I’m entering heaven?” Johnson asked in the role of Trump.
Because they were unsure, the boys let Trump make his own decision.
Trump of Saturday Night Live remarked, “Probably not, right? Epstein!” in reference to the late sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein. “Oh, well. The run has been good, you know. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. “”.
The Domingo Cold Open is the worst.
Kelsey surprised her husband Matt on his 30th birthday with a performance by her closest friends, marking the fourth return of the Domingo sketch since its inception.
Carpenter led the group in a performance based on Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia,” during which the friends disclosed Kelsey’s liaison with Domingo prior to his unexpected arrival.
“This sketch has been performed FOUR times since it was first used in the previous season. “Please let it die,” a YouTube commenter wrote, adding that it only worked twice.
Another person commented, “Somehow, for some INSANE reason, they return just when I thought they ENDED these Domingo sketches.
A third joked, “Since the Cold Open is typically about current affairs, what is this?”.
When Carpenter seemed to be having trouble with her microphone during the Girlboss seminar sketch, viewers were also unimpressed.
Even though viewers could not hear the singer of “Nonsense” for a brief moment, she went on with her lines.
“They’re trying to ruin my girl 😭 snl,” one viewer wrote on X after Sabrina’s microphone was cut off in the middle of the skit.

In the episode, Carpenter returned to the stage to perform “Nobody’s Son” after performing “Manchild” earlier. “..”.
She sang “he sure f—ed me up” without any censorship, leaving viewers on the East Coast of North America stunned, while a small delay gave viewers on the West Coast a few seconds of silence before the expletive was uttered.
This was not the first time Carpenter was a musical guest; in May 2024, she gave a performance. She most recently appeared in the February broadcast of SNL50: The Anniversary Special.
