Turns out the devil (still) wears Prada!
News broke last July that a sequel to the 2006 comedy “The Devil Wears Prada” was officially in the works at Disney.
The studio has now officially set a May 1, 2026 theatrical release date for the follow-up.
Stanley Tucci, who starred in the original “Devil Wears Prada,” recently told Variety, “I know they’re working on it.
“The Devil Wears Prada” was based on Lauren Weisberger’s dishy 2003 novel about a young woman’s nightmarish experience working at a fashion magazine (Weisberger worked as a personal assistant for American Vogue editor Anna Wintour).

As the all-powerful editor-in-chief of the made-up Runway magazine, Streep played Miranda Priestly. As Andrea Sachs, Hathaway played a recent journalism graduate who gets the position that “a million girls would kill for” as Priestly’s assistant. (Of course, the only issue is that Andy arrives at the fashion bible with a briefcase full of amazing clips but “no style or sense of fashion.”. Priestley’s busy first assistant, Blunt, has to teach Andy the ropes. Nigel, a longtime fashion editor at Runway, is portrayed by Tucci as he mentors Andy and shows her the runway.
