According to reports, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is anticipated to go on sale early next year, will come in three different RAM and storage configurations. Samsung is increasing the RAM capacity in comparison to the S24 Ultra, as previously discovered in leaks, potentially for on-device AI.

Jukanlosreve disclosed the following three variations.

There are 256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM.

There are 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.

a storage capacity of 1 TB and 16 GB of RAM.

RAM is undoubtedly new for Samsung, even though the storage options might not be. Previously, the Galaxy S21 Ultra was the only Ultra phone with 16 GB of RAM. Every Ultra phone since has only had 12 GB of RAM.

Even though 16 GB might have been too much and was therefore taken off the list of options, it still hurt to see other manufacturers providing that much RAM. It appears that Samsung has finally found a justification for returning to 16 GB of RAM, which is probably the same justification Apple used to increase the RAM on its base iPhone 16 to 8 GB.

A variety of features on Samsung phones are powered by Galaxy AI. | Samsung is credited with the video.

Older phones with less than 8GB of RAM were not allowed to use Apple’s AI features. The business claimed that without at least 8 GB of memory, Apple Intelligence just could not function. Galaxy AI might be acquiring a number of new features for the S25 lineup that will necessitate additional RAM. Samsung boasted endlessly about AI on the One UI 7 page that was inadvertently uploaded to their website.

One thing that baffles me is that the 256 GB model has 12 GB of RAM. Although it will still aid with Galaxy AI, the phone’s AI will either be slower or the additional RAM is for a completely different purpose.

There are a few more speculated specs for the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra in addition to the RAM and storage choices mentioned above. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor appears to be the only notable feature, making it appear to be fairly similar to its predecessor. Even the display and battery may not change.

Additionally, a leaked S25 Ultra video, pictures, and renders show that Samsung is eschewing the device’s recognizable sharp edges in favor of rounded ones. Samsung and Apple will both produce incredibly mediocre phone generations if there aren’t any significant hardware advancements.
