The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is Google’s second-generation iteration of its foldable line that launched in 2023 with the Google Pixel Fold.
As it turns out, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has proven me wrong on that last point.

Following the release of the Google Pixel Fold in 2023, Google’s second generation foldable line includes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
For various reasons, I have chosen not to buy a foldable despite being drawn to their fun and flexible design.
One is that their camera systems are subpar when compared to their mono-display counterparts, and they are excessively costly. Two, they are far too delicate. The longevity of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is still up for debate. Furthermore, three, a dual-display device usually means a shorter battery life.
On that last point, it appears that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has disproved me.

We tested the Pixel 9 Pro Fold for over 16 hours on a single charge using a 50 percent display brightness and a TikTok video rundown.
This is a far better battery life than the Samsung rival to the Pixel 9 Pro, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which lasted almost 13 hours on a single charge.

The Google Tensor G4 chip in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold scored a low multi-core 4,706 on Geekbench 6, a benchmark that measures processor power. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip found in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 scored 6,638 on the same test, in contrast.
It appears that Google compromised power and performance on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold in order to extend battery life.
Alex Perry of Mashable gave the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold a review. He raved about the “fantastic” 6.3-inch internal display of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, even though he isn’t a fan of the AI bloat, yawn-worthy color choices, and less-impressive camera array (compared to the Pixel 9 Pro models).
“Reading or watching content is made easier by the enormous internal Pixel 9 Pro Fold screen, which rises from 7 and a half to eight inches.”. It’s all bright, glossy, and clear. It’s simply amazing,” remarked Perry.
Moving on, comparing the Pixel 9 Pro Fold to its competitors, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is its main rival. The Pixel outperforms the Samsung in terms of battery life; on a full charge, the Google foldable lasted an amazing 3 hours and 22 minutes.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a more streamlined profile than its Samsung counterpart, measuring 0.20 inches compared to 0.64 inches, despite weighing only 0.64% more than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. 0 point 22 inches tall).
