Renders of the Google Pixel 8a in the new colors—Obsidian, Mint, Porcelain, and Bay—were presented to you last week. We’re back now with some amazing new high-resolution renders.

Although these pictures don’t reveal many new details about the Pixel 8a, they still look amazing, especially in the Bay and Mint hues. Similar to the Pixel 8 Pro in the matching Bay case, the Bay Pixel 8a in the Bay Silicon case looks stunning in the gallery below. It appears that the Pixel 8a will be the device to get this year if you adore that color and want something less expensive than the Pixel 8 Pro.

This past month at Google I/O, Google was supposed to unveil the Pixel 8a. The Pixel A-series usually makes its official debut at Google I/O, though the pandemic has delayed it by a few years. This year, May 14 and 15, will mark the return of Google I/O as a two-day event. Although we anticipate seeing a lot of AI announcements at the event, there may also be a hardware announcement—the Pixel 8a—made. Regretfully, neither the Pixel 9 series nor the Pixel Fold 2 or Pixel Tablet 2 are anticipated to be unveiled at I/O.

positioned to continue being the greatest smartphone under $500.

The Pixel 3a, which retailed for about $329 for the standard model and $379 for the Pixel 3a XL, was an amazing phone when it initially came out, priced under $400. We’ve seen a few price increases over the years; the most recent one was for the Pixel 7a last year. We now anticipate that the price of the Pixel 8a will stay at $499. That would make it one of the best, if not the best, smartphones under $500.

We anticipate that the Pixel 8a’s specifications will mostly stay the same this year. A 6 point 1 inch FHD+ 90Hz display, a 4500mAh battery that can be charged at up to 20W when wired and 7 point 5W when wirelessly, a Tensor G3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage are all included.
