Dec. 8 (UPI) — SpaceX early Sunday launched 23 Starlink spacecraft from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
At 1:22 a.m., the Starlink satellites were deployed into orbit, including 13 with direct-to-cell service for mobile customers.
There are more than 6,800 operational Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit.
Starlink Mission 9-14 left the Vandenberg Space Force Station with 20 Starlink satellites, including 13 with direct-to-cell service.
“The first Starlink satellite direct-to-cell phone constellation is now complete,” SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk said via X early Thursday morning.
December. 8 (UPI) — Early on Sunday, SpaceX launched 23 Starlink spacecraft from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
At 12:11 a.m., the Falcon 9, a 229-foot rocket, took off from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40. M. as the sky was illuminated.
After 8 1/2 minutes, the first stage booster touched down on the drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean.
The NOAA GOES-U satellite lifted in late June coincided with this booster’s second launch.
1:22 a.m. m. The Starlink satellites, including 13 that offer mobile customers direct-to-cell service, were launched into orbit.
This year, it was the 123rd Falcon 9 liftoff.
Thus far in 2024, SpaceX has launched over 80 Starlink missions.
More than 6,800 Starlink satellites are currently in low-Earth orbit.
