It appears that the camera hardware may not be receiving a significant redesign this time around, according to the rumors swirling around the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. A lot of leaks have surfaced recently, so we have a good idea of what to anticipate. However, a fresh leak appears to support our suspicions that, aside from a noteworthy exception in the ultrawide category, the S25 Ultra cameras may not receive many upgrades.
It seems that Samsung may be concentrating on software and artificial intelligence enhancements for its upcoming flagship. According to the leak, the primary camera will most likely be the same 200MP sensor found in the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Since the S24 Ultra already produces high-quality images, this isn’t necessarily bad news. For some, it may not be the thrilling advancement they had hoped for. Expected to retain the remarkable zoom capabilities of the previous model, the 3x and 5x telephoto lenses will also be identical.
But one aspect of the camera is getting a major upgrade: the ultrawide sensor. The leak suggests a new 50MP ultrawide sensor, which is a significant improvement over the S24 Ultra’s 12MP ultrawide sensor. Additionally, the new sensor is physically larger, which may result in better image quality and performance in low light. This has the potential to revolutionize landscape photography and the ability to take those expansive photographs.
