NEGATIVE

The Green Bay Packers defeated the San Francisco 49ers 38–10 on Sunday at Lambeau Field thanks to a strong run game from Josh Jacobs and a disruptive defense.

Sunday’s performance was the Packers’ best overall and defensively, according to Pro Football Focus’s overall grade. The Packers won the turnover battle 3-0 while playing well defensively, running the ball, and tackling the quarterback despite the 49ers’ thin roster. That is a formula that works against anyone, anywhere.

These are the top and bottom players from the Packers’ victory over the 49ers in Week 12, as determined by Pro Football Focus grades.

top five offenses.

1. 92 points, WR Malik Heath.

2. . Elgton Jenkins, LG: 86.6.

3. Josh Jacobs, RB: 86 points.

4. . RT Zach Tom: 78 points.

5. Emanuel Wilson, RB: 75 points 9.

With a contested touchdown catch, Heath caught both of his targets for 15 yards. Jenkins received a near-elite grade as a run blocker and a good grade in the passing game, indicating that he was nearly dominant down to down, despite being charged with giving up a sack and receiving a holding penalty. In addition to having three runs of ten yards or more and forcing twelve missed tackles, Jacobs was a reliable pass-blocker. In the run game, Tom was strong and only gave up two hurries. With a 19-yard run, Wilson forced three missed tackles.

Defense in the top five.

1. Quay Walker, LB: 91 points.

2. . Bullard, CB: 84 points.

3. Keisean Nixon, CB: 83.2.

4. Vand Ness, DE: 82 points.

5. DE Brenton Cox Jr. 79.9.

Walker had two hurries, a pass breakup, four stops, and two more stops that were called back due to penalties. He was also an excellent tackler. Among his finest NFL games was this one. Bullard had seven tackles without a miss, three stops, and strong coverage against the slot, a dangerous position in the 49ers offense. Nixon had a forced fumble and failed to give up a catch in coverage. Two pressures, including a strip-sack, were produced by Van Ness in ten pass-rushing snaps. Cox Jr. was in a hurry and had a tackle against the run.

The offense in the bottom five.

1. . Sean Rhyan, RG: 33.8.

2. . Christian Watson, wide receiver: 47-point 1.

3. . 55 points, TE Ben Sims.

4. . Chris Brooks, RB: 57 points, seven.

5. Melton, wide receiver: 58 points.

Rhyan struggled in the run game, conceded two pressures, and committed a pre-snap penalty. Watson failed to make a catch on three targets and dropped a sure-fire touchdown pass. Sims was merely a mediocre run blocker and wasn’t targeted. Brooks was given a tripping penalty of 15 yards. Melton ran eight routes without a catch.

Defense of the bottom five.

1. 29.5 for CB Carrington Valentine.

2. . Eric Stokes, CB: 47 points, 8.

3. . Colby Wooden, DL: 48 points 5.

4. . 54-5 DE Kingsley Enagbare.

5. . Wyatt, DL: 54 points.

In coverage, Valentine allowed three catches for a total of 68 yards, including a 31-yard pass to George Kittle. Stokes earned a team-low grade against the run despite not giving up a catch. Wooden didn’t have pressure during 14 pass-rushing snaps and had trouble stopping the run. Enagbare missed a tackle on a sack but was strong against the run. Although Wyatt was hurried and had a quarterback hit, he was unable to withstand the run.

unique groups.

Despite missing two tackles, Corey Ballentine, Isaiah McDuffie, Arron Mosby, Carrington Valentine, and Eric Wilson all had tackles covering kicks or punts. Bo Melton did not make any tackles either. The Packers’ total special teams misses were six, which was a season high. Daniel Whelan had a punt inside the 20-yard line, and Brandon McManus made a 51-yard field goal and all five extra points. After a spectacular kickoff return, the 49ers were penalized.

QB play.

Love Jordan: 63 points.

Love completed 10 of 15 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown when not under pressure, demonstrating his excellent clean pocket skills. He also had two turnover-worthy plays, took two sacks, and threw a touchdown under duress. Two of his passes, one of which would have been a 49-yard touchdown pass, were dropped by the Packers. Although Love was only 1 for 6 on passes longer than 20 yards, Watson’s drop was significant once more. Love’s two touchdowns were on passes that were under ten yards long.
