On Friday, the 2024 PFL Championship event was held, and MMA Junkie provided both official and live results.
The event was held at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s King Saud University Stadium. ESPN+ streamed the entire event.
A total of $1 million was awarded to the winners of six divisions for the 2024 season. Four MENA championship bouts were also included in the event.

Khizriev Timur def. Brendan Loughane won the featherweight title by unanimous decision (50-45, 49-46, 49-46).
Def. Dakota Ditcheva. At 4:41 in Round 2, Taila Santos won the women’s flyweight title by TKO (punches).
Yagshimuradov Dovlet def. impa Kasanganay for the light-heavyweight title by knockout (punches) in Round 1, 0:58.
Musaev, Shamil, defeated. won the welterweight title by TKO (punches) against Umalatov in Round 3, 1:44.
Gadzhi Rabadanov lost. Brent Primus won the lightweight title by knockout (punches) in Round 3, 2:31.
Denis Goltsov defeated. For the heavyweight title, Oleg Popov was submitted (triangle choke) at 2:55 in Round 1.
Loughnane Brendan versus. Khizriev, Timur.
In the first round, Khizriev delivers a barrage of punches. Loughnane circles and looks for his own openings, playing with a keen defensive edge. Early on, Khizriev continues to be aggressive, delivering a range of punches and kicks. In the face, Loughnane delivers a nice push kick. After a moment, Khizriev kicks back with a spinning motion. When Loughnane tries a wheel kick but produces air, Khizriev has a chance to attempt the takedown. Khizriev focuses on holding the position while working from the top and gaining ground and pound. Loughnane almost clambered to his feet before being put back on the canvas. Khizriev continues to punch and elbow from above.
For Khizriev, MMA Junkie wins the round 10–9.
Round 2: Setting the tone from the center, Khizriev launches a barrage of punches. There’s a sharp kick to the body. Loughnane appears to be hurt by Khizriev’s nasty uppercut to the body, which tests his poker face. Khizriev punches upstairs and kicks the leg. Loughnane’s nose is bleeding while Khizriev keeps taking the initiative and hitting targets. Despite being really busted up right now, Loughnane is retaliating. Although Khizriev continues to apply forward pressure, Loughnane finds a strong counterpunch and clips Khizriev, causing him to fall to one knee. Immediately after, Khizriev gets back up and keeps throwing punches.
MMA Junkie gives Khizriev a 10–9 victory.
Khizriev continues to throw punches aggressively in the third round and lunges in for a takedown. When he tries to pull Loughnane to the ground from behind, she manages to escape by grabbing onto a fence. Khizriev gives him a knee to the head as payment. They return to striking distance in the middle of the cage after Loughnane escapes. While Loughnane seems to be tending to a wounded rear leg, Khizriev continues to move and engage in sticks and kicks. Loughnane lands a takedown after attempting another spinning kick. Khizriev maintains his weight and throws a few quick blows while in full guard. They head back to the center after Loughnane gets up and moves around. Khizriev hopes to deliver a couple more blows before the round is over.
Khizriev wins the round 10–9 thanks to MMA Junkie.
Khizriev uses a left jab in the fourth round and connects with a powerful combination. The battle is then put back on the ground as he charges in for a well-timed takedown. Loughnane spins away as she tries to stand. With punches and leg kicks, Khizriev keeps leading the dance. As he circles outside, Loughnane doesn’t say much offensive. Khizriev finds room for punches even though he slows down his output. A left is found by Loughnane, followed shortly after by a combination.
MMA Junkie gives Khizriev a 10–9 victory.
In round five, Khizriev works behind a left hand while controlling from the center and throwing punches. An uppercut behind it is connected by a sharp right hand. Instead of taking a punch, Loughnane takes a counterattack by jumping knee to the body. For Khizriev, Loughnane gestures. Despite Loughnane’s attempts to land some nice, quick punches, Khizriev is taken down. In the final ninety seconds, Loughnane gets back up and is free. Despite his best efforts, Khizriev is unable to pull off this takedown. Loughnane delivers a couple leg kicks, but Khizriev’s punches keep the score until the very end.
Khizriev defeats MMA Junkie 10-9 in the round, making the score 50-45.
The outcome: Timur Khizriev lost. Through unanimous vote (50-45, 49-46, 49-46), Brendan Loughane was elected.

Dakota Ditcheva against… Santos Taila.
The first round begins with them exchanging leg kicks and assessing the distance. Ditcheva continues to kick both indoors and out. Ditcheva is able to get through with a sharp combination of punches. The wrestling match continues along the fence after Santos grabs a hold for a takedown. Ditcheva chooses to back off and put the fight back on her feet even though she reverses and wins the takedown. Without wasting any time, Santos returns for another clinch. Ditcheva escapes and lands a left-handed blow. Ditcheva kicked her leg inside again. Santos lunges ahead, but Ditcheva backs off. Front kicks to the face from Ditcheva. Ditcheva gets a barrage of punches, and Santos ducks under and retreats into the fence. In Ditcheva, a short elbow is added. Ditcheva adds a knee to the body and delivers a blow.
MMA Junkie gives Ditcheva a 10–9 victory.
Round 2 – Ditcheva connects early with a sharp left hand. Santos starts to strike as Ditcheva circles, charging forward. Santos maintains a high pressure level until Ditcheva is held against the cage. Out of the hold, Ditcheva spins around. Ditcheva strikes the legs with a kick. Santos delivers a good punch in return. Ditcheva strikes the victim’s body. Santos is pushed back a moment later by a front kick to his body. Ditcheva took another hard leg kick. Santos takes a knee to the body as he closes in for a clinch. Ditcheva elbows the exit with force. Ditcheva strikes the face with another forceful front kick. Santos is covering up as she begins to unload. To reduce the pressure, Santos adjusts the levels. When defending, Ditcheva throws a few forceful elbows. Punches keep coming. What a show! The referee stops Santos from folding over after a punch to the body!

Kasanganay, Impa vs. Yagshimuradov Dovlet.
Yagshimuradov kicks off with a forceful leg kick in the first round. A moment later, they exchange powerful blows. Kasanganay is in the center as they now reset and settle down. With his right hand, Kasanganay darts in, but a hard counter clipped him. Kasanganay is in a state of shock. With additional punches, Yagshimuradov takes advantage of the situation. When Kasanganay tries to react, Yagshimuradov simply keeps giving it his all, and Kasanganay falls to the ground. The referee intervenes before Yagshimuradov can throw another blow. Oh my!
Dovlet Yagshimuradov lost as a result. At 0:58 in Round 1, Impa Kasanganay was knocked out by punches.

Umalatov Magomed vs. Shamil Musaev.
Round 1: Both competitors take their time examining the range and searching for opportunities. The beginning of this one is slow, with a few boo birds chirping. Even though both players offer a few single strikes, the referee claps for action as the jeers get louder. With a sharp left hand, Musaev darts forward in response, placing a combination behind it. Against the fence, they clinch. They resume their passive circling of the cage after the separation. Musaev gave another forward blitz.

Round 2: To get things going early in the round, the audience starts clapping. Umalatov pushes forward and attempts a takedown but fails. Musaev delivers a quick left jab before punching him in the body a second later. Umalatov launches a powerful two-punch combination and charges for a takedown. Musaev is brought to the mat by him, but the reversal occurs swiftly. As they rise, Musaev maintains control over the back. Umalatov transforms into Musaev, who is taken out. Umalatov swiftly stands up, and the wrestling along the fence resumes. With under a minute remaining, they split up and exchange blows. Musaev tries to alter levels but is rejected.

Round 3: They start out at a measured tempo. Musaev circles from the fence while Umalatov applies pressure from the center. Umalatov attempts a single leg but fails. Now, they are back in the center. Musaev strikes with force. Maintaining the pressure, Musaev hard left-clips Umalatov, causing him to fall. Musaev then goes for the finish, and there it is!
The outcome: Shamil Musaev lost. defeated Umalatov by TKO (punches) at 1:44 in Round 3.

Brent Primus against… Rabadanov Gadzhi.
Rabadanov starts off with outside leg kicks in the first round. Primus swings large hooks as he charges in. Rabadanov adds more leg kicks after circling away. Primus throws another round of punches, to which Rabadanov retaliates with blows upstairs. Rabadanov takes the fight to the ground with a quick takedown. Primus remains operational from his back, hoping to operate from full guard mission control. Primus adds elbows from the bottom, but Rabadanov remains heavy, thwarting attempts at submission.
Primus wins the round 10–9 thanks to MMA Junkie.
Round 2: As Primus attempts to close the distance with punches, Rabadanov launches leg kicks. Rabadanov’s attempt at a takedown is stuffed. Primus advances and throws a couple of blows. Primus is dropped by the right hand as Rabadanov closes in for top position on the ground after a quick, precise combination connects for him. Primus seems to be recovered and is once again operating from mission control. Rabadanov gets to his feet and kicks Primus, who remains on the ground. Rabadanov returns to the mat in half guard and, after a few punches, wins the round.

In the third round, they square off in the middle and trade blows upstairs. Rabadanov kicks Primus in the legs and stands over him before dropping Primus with a powerful right hand. Ultimately, he chooses to allow Primus to stand again. The damage to Primus’s left side of his face is now visible. Hard punches are exchanged. Primus prevails in that exchange. After a reset, Rabadanov returns with a nice landing combo. Rabadanov’s second shrewd combination with an uppercut. Primus is illuminated by another intense combo from Rabadanov, and he’s rocked! Rabadanov throws more punches, and Primus falls to the ground, ending the fight!
The outcome: Gadzhi Rabadanov lost. At 2:31 in Round 3, Brent Primus was knocked out by punch.

Goltsov, Denis vs. Oleg Popov. .
Round 1: Goltsov immediately moves into striking range and starts throwing a jab to the left. Popov completes an early takedown after switching levels. By securing two overhooks, Goltsov stops Popov from attacking in full guard. Popov releases his arms and delivers a few blows. In addition to threatening with an armbar, Goltsov attempts a triangle choke. Although the armbar is absent, Goltsov tightens the triangle’s lock. Popov is out! He’s sleeping! What a finish! Goltsov tells the referee!
As a result, Denis Goltsov lost. At 2:55 in Round 1, Oleg Popov was submitted by triangle choke.
