Reports of former WWE stars and Hall of Famers, some of whom could be surprise Royal Rumble entrants, are emerging from Indianapolis, Indiana as the 2025 edition of the PLE nears.
According to Fightful, it’s unclear whether Bella is planned for the Women’s Royal Rumble match or is just making an appearance at the show.
Her last appearance in the ring was the 2022 Rumble match.
She appeared in both the 2023 and 2024 women’s Rumble matches, though it’s not known if she’s planned for this one.
James’ last Royal Rumble appearance came in 2022.
With the 2025 edition of the PLE approaching, rumors of former WWE stars and Hall of Famers—some of whom might be unexpected Royal Rumble entrants—are starting to circulate from Indianapolis, Indiana. According to Fightful Select and PWInsider, a number of other celebrities, including Nikki Bella, a former NXT Women’s Champion, “The King of the Indies,” and others, are in the city after former TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace was spotted at the Indianapolis airport.
Fightful claims that it is unclear if Bella is scheduled to compete in the Women’s Royal Rumble or if she is merely attending the event. Many people are in town for WrestleCon this weekend as well, the outlet reported. After the Bella Twins’ contracts with WWE expired in March 2023, Nikki was spotted at the Netflix premiere of “WWE Raw” and stated that she would be amenable to a WWE comeback. The 2022 Rumble match was her final time competing. Roxanne Perez, a former NXT Women’s Champion, is also in town, Fightful reports. She participated in the women’s Rumble in 2023 and 2024, but it’s unclear if she’s scheduled to attend this one. Fightful reported that Bella was in their Elite section, and PWInsider verified this.
There were also rumors that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Matt Cardona, and Mickie James were seen at the WWE hotel in Indianapolis, according to PWI’s Elite section. Although Cardona is married to Chelsea Green, the Women’s United States Champion, he was once a WWE star using the ring name Zack Ryder. The last time he played was in 2015. James coaches “WWE LFG: Legends and Future Greats.”. According to PWI, there have been discussions about the coaches from the show visiting the area to potentially do promotional work. In 2022, James made his final appearance in the Royal Rumble.
