POSITIVE

Everyone, hello.

The past few months have been amazing; we have been shipping at an incredibly fast rate since we shared our vision at I/O and GML. Our shopping announcements and AI Mode have received a resoundingly positive response. We have also heard from businesses about their excitement about our new advertising experiences and are introducing Maps to innovative new surfaces like Gemini Live and XR glasses. It has been intense, but it has also been incredibly enjoyable and energizing, and I have witnessed and heard this from many of you. Since I think there is no better place to use this AI moment to change the lives of billions of users, I accepted the position of leader of KandI. Now is the time to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

I want all of us here to be fully committed to creating the future of our products during this exciting time when so much significant work is being done. I’ve made two choices to back this.

Giving K&I Google employees in the US access to a Voluntary Exit Program (VEP). A.

I have been closely observing and contemplating whether we ought to implement a Voluntary Exit Program (VEP) for K&I, as some organizations at Google have done in recent months. After hearing positive feedback on those pilots as well as requests within our org, I’ve decided to offer a VEP — this gives eligible U. the option to voluntarily leave the company with a severance package for S-based K&I Googlers (my direct reporting organization).

We have big plans and a ton of work to do, so I really (really!) hope you don’t take this if you’re motivated by the opportunity ahead, enjoying your work, and performing well. This VEP provides a supportive exit path for those of you who don’t feel energized by your work, don’t feel aligned with our strategy, or are struggling to meet the expectations of your role. This is because I want you at Google and we need your energy and dedication.

One of our expectations as hybrid K&I Googlers is to arrive at work on a hybrid schedule. As you may have heard, I think that when we collaborate in the workplace, we are able to innovate more effectively and make decisions more quickly. Our work location policy will now be more uniform, thanks to my decision. S. . Google employees within 50 miles of one of our K&I return sites who are currently working entirely remotely will return to the office. As a result, they will follow the 3/2 hybrid schedule that almost all K&I Google employees currently follow. As more Google employees return to the office, we’re working to make sure our offices are prepared to support our team. If local remote K&I Google employees would like to be nearer to their return site, we’re also providing relocation assistance.

examining the future.

My objective is not to meet a headcount target, but rather to make sure that every member of our team is totally committed. As a matter of fact, we will continue to fill open positions and anticipate doing so in the future, which will also open up new avenues for internal mobility and advancement.
