POSITIVE

The first-ever foldable iPhone model is anticipated to be added to the lineup next year; it may be dubbed the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra. A recent report from The Elec provides new information on the iPhone Fold’s anticipated screen sizes as well as the potential for a delay.

Screen sizes for the iPhone Fold might be smaller than anticipated, and there may be supply issues.

In a recent research note, the Japanese company Mizuho Securities provided its most recent predictions for the iPhone Fold. According to The Elec, the key new information concerns launch timing and screen sizes.

The following iPhone Fold screen sizes are anticipated, according to Mizuho.

5:38 inches is the outer display.

Display inside: 7-point-58 inches.

Both figures are somewhat less than those reported in earlier reports. Prior to this, we anticipated 5 inch and 7 inch displays, respectively.

The 6-inch iPhone 16e currently has the smallest iPhone display. The iPhone Air has a screen that is 6 inches by 5 inches, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro have screens that are 6 inches by 3 inches, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max has the largest screen at 6 inches by 9 inches.

When the iPhone Fold is folded, it will function similarly to a new iPhone mini.

Nearly identical to the foldable’s 5.38-inch display, the discontinued iPhone mini’s 5.4-inch screen.

The internal display’s 7.58-inch size is a respectable decrease from the 7.8-inch standard. Even so, it will undoubtedly remain by far the biggest iPhone display ever.

Another issue that worries Mizuho is Apple’s anticipated fall 2026 launch date.

Supply may be limited as a result of the company’s drawn-out design finalization process, particularly for the hinge.

A 2026 launch is still very likely, but Apple might not have as much supply as it had hoped. The product might, however, also be delayed into 2027 if production encounters too many problems.

The anticipated release of the iPhone Fold is still a year away, so there is still time for some of these details to change. However, given past years’ schedules, we should anticipate hearing a lot more until the end of 2025 regarding Apple’s plans for a foldable iPhone.
