Other tornadoes cause damage in Indiana and Kentucky

A dangerous half mile wide tornado was reported in northern Ohio Thursday night, while several others were confirmed in Kentucky and Indiana in a severe weather outbreak linked to least three deaths.
“THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS and dangerous tornado on the ground,” the National Weather Service’s Cleveland office wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Forecasters said they were monitoring two tornadic rotations including one in Crawford County Ohio and a stronger one in northern Ashland County.

Forecasters also said scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph and hail the size of tennis balls are also possible.

The storm reportedly also destroyed a mobile home park and a Taco Bell in the eastern Indiana town and severely damaged other properties in Randolph County, about 85 miles east of Indianapolis.
A funnel cloud was reported in southwestern Delaware County at around 8:20 p.m. EDTFurther southeast, at several reported tornadoes wreaked havoc in southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky on Thursday.
Two tornadoes were confirmed outside of Madison, Indiana, one in Hanover and another in Switzerland County, according to the Indiana Emergency Management Agency.
No injuries have been reported but at least one home and a trailer were damaged.
Nearly 9,000 power outages were reported in the state, USA TODAY’s tracker showed.
In Kentucky, a tornado that touched down in the town of Milton damaged at least 50 structures, including homes, Trimble County Emergency Management Director Andrew Stark confirmed.
Fallen trees and downed power lines were also reported.
Over 5,000 outages were reported in the state, according to USA TODAY’s outage map.
Weather service meteorologists earlier warned that tornadoes and large hail could possibly threaten parts of north-central Texas and the Midwest with the greatest overall threat occurring across eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas and southern Missouri.

A severe weather outbreak linked to at least three deaths was linked to multiple confirmed tornadoes in Kentucky and Indiana on Thursday night, in addition to a dangerous half-mile wide tornado that was reported in northern Ohio.

The National Weather Service’s Cleveland office posted on X (formerly Twitter) that “THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS and dangerous tornado on the ground.”.

Two tornadic rotations were under observation, according to forecasters: a weaker one in northern Ashland County and one in Crawford County, Ohio.

Severe weather: On Thursday, there were three confirmed deaths in eastern Indiana as a result of a tornado outbreak.

A few tornadoes were “likely” to threaten, the weather service warned. Forecasters warned that tennis ball-sized hail and sporadic wind gusts up to 70 mph are also possible.

Moving even further southeast, on Thursday, there were multiple confirmed tornadoes that caused severe damage in southern Indiana and north-central Kentucky.

According to the Indiana Emergency Management Agency, there have been two confirmed tornadoes outside of Madison, Indiana: one in Hanover and one in Switzerland County.

A trailer and at least one house were damaged, but no injuries have been reported. According to USA TODAY’s tracker, there were close to 9,000 power outages reported in the state.

At least fifty structures, including homes, were damaged by a tornado that made landfall in the Kentucky town of Milton, according to Trimble County Emergency Management Director Andrew Stark. There were also reports of downed power lines and fallen trees.

According to USA TODAY’s outage map, more than 5,000 outages were reported in the state.

The Midwest and north-central Texas could potentially be threatened by tornadoes and large hail, according to weather service meteorologists who had earlier issued a warning. Eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, and southern Missouri posed the biggest risk.
