Samsung has just launched its One UI 8 beta program and, alongside doing that, confirmed the launch window for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, while hinting they’ll be the first devices to launch with Android 16.
Samsung adds that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first devices to include the stable One UI 8 update, meaning they’ll also likely be among the first, if not the first, devices to run Android 16 out of the box.

In addition to confirming the launch window for its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, Samsung recently launched its One UI 8 beta program, implying that these devices will be the first to run Android 16.

Samsung has confirmed that its “newest foldables” will launch “this summer” in conjunction with the announcement of the One UI 8 beta program. This is the first time the company has confirmed this anticipated launch window, and it fits with previous rumors of an early July launch date.

Samsung further states that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first devices to run Android 16 out of the box and will be the first to receive the stable One UI 8 update.

Samsung created One UI, an integrated software platform, to help Galaxy devices improve productivity and convenience while streamlining daily tasks. As a result of Samsung and Google’s mutual partnership, One UI 8 will make its debut on Samsung’s newest foldables this summer and progressively spread to additional Galaxy devices, allowing users to now enjoy an enhanced, customized mobile experience with the most recent version of Android.

One UI 8, which is the first generation of updates to be released alongside new foldable devices, also sets a new pace for Samsung’s software development with significant UX and AI enhancements.

Users of Galaxy S25 devices in Korea, Germany, the UK, and the US can now access the One UI 8 beta; users of other devices and regions will have to wait for the time being.

For the Galaxy S25, Samsung releases the first One UI 8 beta, which is based on Android 16.
