Samsung says it will start deleting inactive accounts in July if they haven’t been signed into for two years.
Samsung accounts are key to gaining access to proprietary apps on Galaxy devices.
The Galaxy Store and all of Samsung’s apps, such as Health and Galaxy Wearables, require a Samsung account to log in.
According to Samsung, inactive accounts that haven’t had any activity for at least 24 months are subject to deletion (via SamMobile).
This means that users can log into their previously inactive Samsung account before the end of next month.

According to Samsung, accounts that have not been used for two years will begin to be deleted in July. When an account is deleted, it is no longer there.

Access to proprietary apps on Galaxy devices requires a Samsung account. All Samsung apps, including Health and Galaxy Wearables, as well as the Galaxy Store, require a Samsung account in order to access. This can, of course, be connected to a Google Account, but it’s usually a different login.

Samsung claims that accounts that have not been used for a minimum of 24 months may be deleted (through SamMobile). This also applies to utilized secondary accounts. Any accounts that fall within those parameters will be deleted with no chance of recovery when the change takes effect on July 31. An account shouldn’t be at risk of being deleted if it has been accessed even once in the previous 24 months.

How to prevent the deletion of your Samsung account.

According to Samsung, accounts will be protected if they detect any kind of login activity prior to July 31.

Thus, users will have the opportunity to access their previously dormant Samsung accounts prior to the end of the following month. By doing this, Samsung will update the account and mark it as active. The account should stay unaltered as long as this is completed before July 31.

Customers will receive an email from Samsung alerting them to the impending change, but it might not work if the email linked to the account is also dormant.
