We ranked the Apple iPad Pro (11-inch, M4) as the best tablet available for $899 ($100 off). One of the best screens we’ve ever seen, and Apple somehow made the Pro model lighter than the Air models. This is the best option if you intend to manage high levels of productivity, such as image rendering and editing, machine learning applications, and similar tasks.
For $1,099 ($200 off), the larger iPad Pro (13-inch, M4) is the best alternative to a laptop. The MacBook Air can easily manage all but the most taxing rendering tasks, regardless of the size you choose.
$1,249 ($450 off) for the MacBook Air (15-inch, M3, 24GB RAM): This more powerful model of last year’s M3 MacBook Air features a 15-inch screen and a bit more internal memory. When it was released in early 2024, we rated the 15-inch model a 90 in our review. This MacBook is nearly identical to the M4 model, with the exception of its slightly better camera, older M3 chip (which is still fast enough for daily use), and inability to power two external displays with the lid open.
