Puelles battled hard for the majority of the round and once knocked Silva off balance, but the Brazilian hurt him in the closing seconds as he attempted to stop the fight before the final horn.

Silva was given the third round and the victory by two of the three officials, and his late rally was sufficient to earn him the victory on the scorecards. This was a courageous comeback victory for “Netto BJJ,” who improved his record to 7-5 inside the Octagon and earned his first victory since the end of 2023.

Before Aguilar stunned the recent Contender Series grid in the third, Gurule had some strong moments of his own and the two ran fairly evenly in the second. The two men traded good shots all the way to the end.

After all was said and done, Aguilar emerged victorious, recording his fourth victory in six UFC contests and giving Gurule his second straight loss. As a member of the DWCS Class of ’22, Aguilar is still a fun, all-action flyweight competitor who should continue to receive good opportunities in the future.

At 0:51 of Round 1, Zachary Reese vs. Sedriques Dumas was declared a no contest due to an accidental foul.

Less than a minute into the middleweight fight between Zachary Reese and Sedriques Dumas, the bout was aborted after Dumas was incapacitated after taking an unintentional, thudding low blow.

As they fought in opposing positions, Reese delivered a left kick that landed audibly below Dumas’ waist, sending the Floridian to the canvas in understandable pain. Dumas said he was unable to continue four minutes into his five-minute recovery period, and the fight was immediately called off.

Although it could have been a barnburner, this fight never really got going.

He kept doing well in the second, but after briefly losing his back, he turned things around and finished the round first.
