PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for May 2025 are NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark, and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced Tuesday.
PS Plus Essential subscribers will also get expansion Destiny 2: The Final Shape, starting May 28.
NBA 2K25 will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
June 2025’s PS Plus Essential games will be available for download through June 30.
It offers online multiplayer access, a monthly assortment of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases.
In May 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that NBA 2K25, Alone in the Dark, and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk would be free Essential games for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The three games will be available for download starting on June 3. Beginning on May 28, PS Plus Essential subscribers will also have access to the expansion, Destiny 2: The Final Shape.
In September 2024, 2K Sports released NBA 2K25, the most recent iteration of their basketball simulation. With WNBA players from a range of eras, NBA 2K25 offers a long list of modes, including MyCareer, MyTeam, MyNBA, and The W. It also incorporates 2K’s ProPlay technology, which “directly translates NBA footage into engaging gameplay.”. Both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 will support NBA 2K25.
Jodie Comer and David Harbour play the dual protagonists in the 2024 adaptation of the survival horror classic, Alone in the Dark. The PS5 will be able to play Alone in the Dark.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is an action platformer game with a Jet Set Radio theme where graffiti crews fight for control of the streets using personal boostpacks. In order to establish their territory, players traverse on BMX bikes, skateboards, and inline skates while hurling graffiti. Both the PS4 and PS5 will support Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
Players embark on a journey into the heart of the Traveler and put an end to the War of Light and Darkness in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, a significant expansion for Bungie’s shared-world sci-fi shooter. The PS4 and PS5 will both support The Final Shape.
The PS Plus Essential games from June 2025 will be accessible for download until June 30.
Ark: Survival Ascended, Balatro, and Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, the May 2025 PlayStation Plus Essential games, are still available to PS Plus members through June 2.
