Multiple people injured as small plane crashes in Tennessee

Multiple people were injured when a small plane carrying 20 people crashed in Tullahoma, Tennessee, authorities said.
Six people were taken to hospitals for injuries that couldn’t be tended to at the scene, said Lyle Russell, a spokesperson for the city.
Russell said the conditions of those people are unknown, and said he believes the injured were taken to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.
A spokesperson for Vanderbilt University Hospital said it had admitted three patients — one in critical condition and two stable.
First responders treated other minor injuries at the scene, Russell added.

Authorities said a small plane carrying 20 people crashed in Tullahoma, Tennessee, injuring multiple people.

There were no fatalities.

According to city spokesperson Lyle Russell, six people were transported to hospitals for injuries that were not treatable on the spot.

Four of them were transported by ambulance, and two by medical helicopter, according to Russell. A person who had been transported by ground was subsequently helicoptered to a new location after medical professionals determined that the patient needed care at a different facility.

Russell stated that he believes the injured were transported to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, but he did not know the condition of those individuals.

Three patients were admitted, two of whom were stable, and one of whom was in critical condition, according to a Vanderbilt University Hospital spokesperson. The spokesperson did not provide specifics about their wounds.

Other minor injuries were treated on the scene by first responders, Russell continued.

It was approximately 12:45 p.m. when the de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter crashed. m. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is looking into the incident, it took off from Tullahoma Regional Airport shortly after.

The FAA reports that the aircraft crashed on Old Shelbyville Road.

According to Russell, it was a skydiving aircraft.

In a statement, the National Transportation Safety Board stated that it is looking into the matter.
