Monica is left to complete the performance alone after Brandy abruptly leaves the Chicago show

Deadline

Three stops into The Boy Is Mine Tour this week, fans of Brandy Norwood and Monica were left confused by the abrupt end to Saturday’s concert.
Concertgoers on social media complained that the show at Chicago’s United Center was reportedly cut short after Norwood abruptly walked off-stage early in the performance, leaving Monica to finish the concert solo, without getting to the tour’s eponymous 1998 duet.
“Give me one second y’all I gotta get my—” said Norwood in a video, going backstage after apparently struggling with sound issues, never to return.
One audience member on X said they “never saw her again,” adding: “Monica came out, monologued, sat, sung and left.
“#Brandy just threw a fit and left the stage 75% before the show was over and #Monica had to finish the show by herself!” they wrote.

NEGATIVE

Fans of Monica and Brandy Norwood were perplexed by the sudden conclusion of Saturday’s performance, their third stop on the Boy Is Mine Tour this week.

Social media users expressed dissatisfaction over the show at Chicago’s United Center, which was allegedly cut short when Norwood abruptly left the stage early, leaving Monica to perform alone until the tour’s 1998 duet of the same name.

In a video, Norwood stated, “Give me a second, y’all, I gotta get my—” before leaving backstage after seemingly having trouble with the sound and never coming back. Deadline has requested comment from Norwood’s team.

“Never saw her again,” one X audience member wrote, adding: “Monica came out, monologued, sat, sang, and left.”. No nothing, no goodbye. The screen flickered off. When the lights turned on, they instructed us to exit. “”.

After the lights came on, someone else posted a video of the audience, who were obviously irritated. They wrote, “Brandy just lost it and left the stage seventy-five percent of the way through, leaving Monica to finish the show alone.”.

The Boy Is Mine Tour, which Brandy and Monica announced would be returning in June, began Thursday at Cincinnati’s Heritage Bank Center and included performances by Muni Long and Kelly Rowland.
