The three Mega Evolutions of the original Kalos First Partner Pokémon were revealed in a new trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A during today’s Nintendo Direct. It has come to light that Mega Greninga is a Water and Dark type. Almost helicopter-like, Greninja is seen hanging upside down from a rotating star! Greninja is already so popular with fans that the Mega is sure to be a huge hit!
Delphox Mega.
Mega Delphox is classified as a Fire and Psychic. Hovering atop a flaming broom, Delphox indulges in the witchy aesthetic.
Chesnaughty Mega.
Grass and Fighting is the type of Mega Chesnaught. Chesnaught receives an amazing staff and cape, which are not depicted in the official render.
DLC for Mega Dimension.
With Hoopa, Mega Raichu X, and Mega Raichu Y as the main characters, a new DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A has already been hinted at!
As part of the rumored X and Y-shaped Mega theme, Raichu receives two brand-new Mega Evolutions, X and Y. The rings on Hoopa’s body and horns are used to warp space, giving it a significant role in the expanded story of Mega Dimension.
Both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 systems can play Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension. Once you’ve bought it, you can play it without having Pokémon Legends: Z-A or Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Mega Dimension is currently available for pre-order; the other story content for the DLC will be released shortly after the DLC’s sale on October 16, 2025.
The two new Raichu evolutions are almost identical to Gorochu, the rumored original Raichu evolution that was abandoned and was supposed to have horns and fangs.

Since the original Kalos First Partner Pokémon was expected to receive Mega Evolutions, the two Mega Evolutions for Raichu were a huge surprise! In fact, Mega Raichu was not included in the list of allegedly “leaked” new Mega Evolutions, which is a welcome change of pace. This means that a whopping nine Mega Evolutions have now been revealed before the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. So far, which tease is your favorite?
