A. political history for bringing legal action against The New York Times and four of its reporters for allegedly publishing books and articles that were meant to harm his reputation.
It was filed in the U.S. on Monday. S. Publisher Penguin Random House, authors Susanne Craig and Russ Buettner of “Lucky Loser” (2025), and Times reporters Peter Baker and Michael S. Schmidt were all charged by the District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
It demands damages of at least $15 billion and claims that they timed the publication of the book and other articles against Trump with “actual malice” in order “to inflict maximum electoral damage” prior to the 2024 presidential election, which infuriated O’Donnell.
He claimed that no other American politician has filed “more frivolous lawsuits” than the president in an unrestrained monologue on “The Last Word.”. O’Donnell also praised the four defendants listed in the filing, calling them the paper’s “new honor roll.”.

O’Donnell pointed out that the three articles Trump included in his complaint were published the year before the election, and he conjectured that his “lawsuit factory” probably has “stacks” of possible filings on hold until he “really needs” one to divert attention from the mistakes made by his administration.

He clarified, “Donald Trump was aware that the Senate Judiciary Committee would hear testimony regarding his longtime friend Jeffrey Epstein from the most inept FBI director in history—a man who is also incapable of tying a necktie. “.”.

Imagine what Republicans would be saying tonight if Joe Biden did that, he added, adding that it would be an impeachable offense for any other president in history. Imagine what the Republicans would say if a Democrat ever took such a step. “”.
