Ore, Portland. After an emergency hearing Thursday morning that left both sides awaiting answers, a federal appeals court could make a decision at any time regarding whether to permit or prohibit the deployment of National Guard troops in Portland (KPTV).

The federalization and troop deployment to Portland legal battle reached the Ninth U.S. S. . Circuit Court of Appeals following the swift appeal by the Trump administration of a federal judge’s ruling last weekend to obtain a temporary restraining order to prevent the troop deployment.

The judges’ panel ruled on Wednesday that the 200 Oregon National Guard members could stay federalized but could not deploy to Portland until the appeals court’s ruling.

4:18. m. Arriving at the Portland ICE building to participate in the demonstration is the “Emergency Naked Bike Ride.”. There are currently about 500 protesters outside the building.

3 PM. M. At the Portland ICE building, roughly 200 members of Portland Contra Las Deportaciones march in order to stage a protest.

3-a. M. Two individuals were taken into custody during demonstrations outside the ICE facility on Saturday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Harold Alston Smith of Portland, age 32, was arrested for fourth-degree assault against Beaverton resident Brian Wesley Crowell-Drogt, age 33. Crowell-Drogt was hospitalized and later arrested for fourth-degree assault.

Smith was also arrested for harassment during Thursday night’s protests, according to jail records.
