Multiple rumours hinted Qualcomm would release its next flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, earlier than usual.
Qualcomm has been gradually decreasing the time it takes to launch high-end smartphone SoCs with the Snapdragon 888 onwards.
At its Computex 2025 keynote, Qualcomm said the next Snapdragon Summit will take place between September 23 and September 25 in Hawaii.
There’s a good chance we could see the next-gen Snapdragon X Elite 2 (or Snapdragon X2 Elite) laptop chips debut here as well; however, other rumours indicate it might not arrive until 2026.
Previous leaks indicate the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will outperform its last-gen counterpart by up to 26% in AnTuTu.
Numerous rumors suggested that Qualcomm would release the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, its next flagship SoC, earlier than planned. With the Snapdragon 888 and later, Qualcomm has been progressively cutting down on the time it takes to release high-end smartphone SoCs. We now know the precise day that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will be available.
Qualcomm announced during its Computex 2025 keynote that the next Snapdragon Summit will be held in Hawaii from September 23 to September 25. Although other rumors suggest it might not arrive until 2026, there is a good chance we could see the next-generation Snapdragon X Elite 2 (or Snapdragon X2 Elite) laptop chips make their debut here as well.
According to prior leaks, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 will perform up to 26% better in AnTuTu than its predecessor. In addition to using an Adreno GPU that is up to 30% faster than the previous one, it will maintain its 6 + 2 CPU setup. If correct, the Arm v9 instruction set, the new Nuvia CPU cores, and TSMC’s N3P node will provide the aforementioned gains.
October 2025 is when smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor are anticipated to be released. Among them are the Realme GT8 Pro, OnePlus 15, Xiaomi 16, and numerous others. Since Qualcomm reportedly wants to produce the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy on Samsung Foundry’s SF2 node and the Galaxy S26 series is rumored to use the Exynos 2600 on all variants, Samsung may decide to forego this generation.
